Re: What is your most significant problem with the EVO 3D?
4g is a joke and reception sucks... my friend has the photon, set them side by side in trouble areas and the photon radio is way way better.. this wont be be fixed with software so if you leave or travel to poor reception areas the evo 3d is not the way to go ( never had reception problems with my touch prod 2 )

Re: What is your most significant problem with the EVO 3D?
Samsungs support is worse than HTC's...just ask around on this Fourm...their builds on their phones suck...Although the Galaxy 2 looks like a vast improvement...
They'll be new phones out by all the Carriers in October...Right now I'm with Sprint...no 4 g but the 3g is decent here...HTC is comin out with the Blast which will blow most stuff outta the water if you believe the early reports... So I'll stick with this one run WIFI at home...3 g at work there's a cell tower right down the street always 5 bars I can surely live with that...and wait till these next hot phones cum out ...Will definitley be gettin this Blast... break the contract and make it up by sellin the phone on Ebay and gettin between 200-300 bux...if I keep it in great condition which I normally do... Thats the Plan... |

Re: What is your most significant problem with the EVO 3D?
I was trying to find a thread that I could vent about this phone. I think this one will do. This phone is my first entry into the world of Android. All of my previous Smartphones were WM. This would be my 6th Smartphone so I am no newbie.
Here are the issues I have: 1- Dropped Calls (more than I have ever experienced while with Sprint) 2- Poor Signal Quality 3- Low Speaker volume 4- When I have headphones connected to the phone, and I get a phone call it rings through the speakers instead of the headphones. 5- When listening to a recording on my phone that I recorded with the Voice Recorder the volume sporadically gets louder and then dims. 6- I created a custom signature for my text messages, so when I go to a text message to view what I received and then go back out, even though I didn't type anything it saves to drafts. On my WM phone this was never an issue. I've removed my signature but I am not happy about it. 7- Even after the update I still have some birthdays that are off by one or two days, that I must manually update to the correct date. 8- For the most part Facebook works. However, I have two contacts in my phone that also have group pages on FB and when I get text messages from them it shows on the main screen as coming from that person, but when I go into the actual thread it shows as the FB group. I don't know what to do to fix that. Never had this problem with my WM phone. These are not new contacts with new FB Group pages. 9- The vibration battery in this phone stinks. I hardly eve know someone is calling me if I have this phone in my bag. 10 - The voice recorder doesn't have a pause button while you are initially recording. (WTH!!) It does during playback but not during recording. 11- No easy way to access voice dialer you have to go to all applications then find the app to engage it. Or pin it to one of your screens and then still have to click on it. Really who was the brainiac that came up with that? 12- How could I forget has anyone else had issues taking the case covering the battery off? It shouldn't be that difficult to remove a cover from a phone. This is not a big issue because I only have had to take it off twice so far but what a pain it was doing so. 13 - Picture quality is okay can't complain, but there is no way to see a 3D pic outside of your phone. Then what is the point of taking a pic in 3D if you cannot share it? |

Re: What is your most significant problem with the EVO 3D?
I forgot what I voted the last time ..
But now its the battery! I think the battery life sux! I go running with the GPS and a calorie tracking app, run for 2 hrs while taking to my friend for 25 mins .. come back, the battery is almost drain! So now I dont talk when I go running! I might try the Samsung S II w hen it comes to Sprint. I read that CMDA suck vs GSM.

Well besides having an initial problem with getting the voice mail to work (possibly related to the fact I had a land line # ported and the temp# had been assigned and was stuck in the settings value) my volume is very low
now (rcvr/spkrph/hdphone jack). The volume seemed OK until the voice mail problem cleared and I had installed a few apps from the Android Market site. |

Re: What is your most significant problem with the EVO 3D?
Try turning off what you don't really need networking wise (GPS; WiFi; 4G; GPS).
Then try the following instructions for charging the phone: 1) Turn your device ON and charge the device for 8 hours or more; 2) Unplug the device and turn the phone OFF and then replug it and charge for 1 hour; 3) Unplug the device turn it ON wait 2 minutes and turn it OFF replug it and charge for another hour. The source claimed "Your battery life should almost double, we have tested this on our devices and other agents have seen a major difference as well." I found it useful. |
