Re: Did you get an Airave?

I got a new one on craigslist for $15.00. Felt kinda bad at first, but she only asked for $20. Up and running now!

You can. There are two option, call sprint to have them setup or you do it yourself following their FAQ

Note that once you enable the limiting feature, you can not go back or remove the phone number you just added, it never worked as I called. The only way to revert is re-provisioning at their end, back to original status (no limit).

Follow their FAQ
This was meant to turn on the access control, but the same place you can set the Airave radio coverage area (3 levels, small, medium, and large)

Re: Did you get an Airave?

I've always had horrible service in my house. My Evo 3D not only doesn't get 4G which it should here, but it rarely stays in 3G, always going to 1X (or maybe 1 bar of service in 3G). Everyone with Sprint has problems in our house.

I decided to pursue this today. First I chatted with support which was a waste of time -- they told me to go in to the store to request an Airave and I could ask if they'd do it for free since I have a problem.

Then I called, and after a brief explanation, they first offered it for $130 with free service. When I said that I understood they gave it to people for free who had problems like I do, she immediately agreed to do that and said I'll receive it in 3-5 days.

You can remove the limiting feature, which I just did. Although it took me about 30 tries between a two week period before it accepted the new values.

I just got a call back with my order number, but they told me that because so many of them are on order it will take around 4 weeks to get it. Any way to get this speeded up?

Re: Did you get an Airave?

For those that got them to send a free one (and have an order number) and had it on back order -- when did your order information show up in Sprint's order tracking?

Mine never did. I called them two days later to ask about it and they said it was on its way already and I should get it "soon." It came the next day.

My account showed the extra line and number about a day after they said they were going to send it out (after waiting a bit for them to get one to send to me) and add it to my plan free of charge.
