Just called sprint and talked to their Tech Support office. They are sending me a new phone and it'll be here in 2-3 business days. I will then have to return the old phone back to them. I'm SHOCKED.

thats pretty amazing. they were being *******s when i talked to them. they made me go through asurion and pay the 50 dollar replacement fee after 3 different phone calls. not very helpful because verizon and att when you have a faulty phone they replace it for you and deal with the manufacturer themselves. 3 of my friends have had verizon branded samsung glydes crap out on them, walk into the verizon store and are given a brand new phone. 1 friend on att called customer service, att shipped them a brand new phone for free and asked them to ship their defective phone back free of charge. sprint makes you deal with the manufacture directly, and pretty much tell you tough ****.

apparently the mainboard that the vibrate motor is attached is faulty, i believe due to heat. overtime the main board's contacts burn out or something causing the vibrate motor to stop functioning.

Thumbs up Total Protection

I just discovered that Sprint has open enrollment in the total protection plan this month.

Sprint will replace it with the same device if it is available, if not available, they will replace it with a like device.
Like any policy, I'm sure there are ways around it
But 99.9% of the time, you will get the same model as a replacement, whether it is new or refurbished.

Re: Vibrate stopped working

Thanks for your replies. I also know an employee for Sprint and my phone is on one of his lines so I get the employee plan basically, so does that influence what phone I can get? Do employees get to choose what phone they want to replace their broken phone?

@Biker1: If they don't have another diamond available, does that mean they will give me a tp, htc touch, or a diamond 2 if I tell them to wait until one of those come in?

Tough to answer but imo>>
Touch: No, would be considered a downgrade although I know some that love the device
Pro: Not necessarily as it is a different device regarding keyboard, etc. but probably would be considered a lateral move regarding devices.
Diamond2: If available, probably.
But likely that Sprint would not let you wait until it becomes available

But since you have a buddy that is an employee, he or she can let you know for certain what can and can't be done.

Sprint should still exchange the device for you if it is within 1 year of ownership, which would make it eligible for the one year replacement or repair warranty offered by HTC.
But Sprint usually honors the manufacturers warranty.
They did for me and others.
The last I heard, Sprint's policy has not changed.
Just go to the store, a Sprint store with a repair/service facility, and explain the situation to a Rep. Obviously, be courteous.
If a rep gives you a hassle, ask to speak with a manager.
I don't think you should have any problem, especially when you are friendly with a Sprint employee.
Which reminds me, just go to your friend and have him do the exchange or repair.
In the case of a screen failure, they will exchange the device for you
Remember, all of the above is dependant on whether or not your issue is a manufacturing defect.

Re: Vibrate stopped working

thanks a lot Biker1. I'm pretty sure it's a manufacture defect because I've tried hard resetting, flashing to stock and everything. Right now I have my phone with me all back to stock and relocked and I'm just waiting for my dad to take me to a Sprint store (probably this weekend). Or maybe I can get him to call our friend and see what he says.
