As for entering passwords yea it was a let down at first but since i only had to do that ONCE to setup email it was pretty useless to make that a downfall, also i guess nobody told them u can landscape and text now so its ALOT easier. keep in mind that allof of the people who review these devices for there web page. dont know how to use them and there ignorance shows usually

Re: Diamond Reviews

Can anyone confirm if SPB Full Screen Keyboard works with the Diamond. This is the best on screen keyboard in my opinion for typing any sort of long emails or texts.

Re: Diamond Reviews

Hey Everyone,
Great reviews...thank you!

If anyone here is a former Mogul user, going from Mogul to Diamond, do you miss the physical keyboard? I have to say that I like the tactile feedback of the slide-out keyboard, so I am not sure how I would transition to the on-screen keyboard.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Re: Diamond Reviews

After looking at the Diamond screen my touch's screen looks like a toy from the 80's. It's almost like looking at the first nintendo graphics compared to a ps3.......

Anyway, has anyone tried putting Esmertec Java or any other java client on their Diamond along with opera mini?

The keyboard is an issue..... not sure at this point if it is a deal breaker. I do miss the many configurable buttons on the mogul. The form factor on the Diamond, the screen and memory are great, but not having a button to close programs on the body of the device is a bummer. Also the scroll wheel on the left side of the Mogul is nice and is missing on the Diamond. Overall it is a much better device, but will take some getting used to (if I keep it). The Sprint Rom is iffy and slows down for no reason when using Touchflo3D at times, with nothing running and plenty of memory free. So a ROM overhaul will be needed to get the most out of the device.

I am divided on whether to have the latest and greatest (as I did with the Mogul on its release) but have to struggle through all the flashes to get the damned thing working the way I want it too.

There is a serious lack of hardware buttons on the Diamond. I am going to have to see if I can configure the left arrow button on the botton using Double Launcher. The missing buttons may kill the device more than the lack of a keyboard. Also the inability to expand beyond 4 GB is another issue, now that the Touch HD will have a memory slot.

Re: Diamond Reviews

Everyone who thinks that having no keyboard is an issue must first try SPB Full Screen Keyboard. It will put your device in landscape mode, give a little window on the top to see what you are typing, and the rest of the screen is your keyboard. Make sure to go into the seetings and set it up to be used with your favorite portrait keyboard. What it does is put a little keyboard on the top left corner of your portrait keyboard and all you need to do is push it and it will throw you into full screen landscape mode. This is a must have for any serious typing!!!

Also a must is to go into the settings menu of the task manager button on the top right corner. Click it and you will see an icon for settings. Go in and make sure to change the x button to close out the program and not minimize it!

By the way, I think HTC finally got the scrolling thing right. It doesn't scroll at speeds faster then light anymore....

No matter how good the on screen keyboard is, I still prefer a qwerty slide out. It's feeling the actual buttons that makes it easier for me to type.

The other thing is, the Touch Pro will have the same on screen keyboards anyway.
