For me the best head set for stereo phones is the Motorola s9 behind the ear headset. works as a standard phone headset and stereo audio for music or video players. works perfect for my xv6800. I even had it working on my 6700.

Update: I have requested a RMA from Newegg for my Z9. Reason?

* White noise during calls (if I turn the vol down, it goes away, but so does the caller)
* Loses pairing relationship if powered off (have to "Set as Hands-free" every time)
* Powers off when charging (when call comes in during charge, I have to use the handset)
* The Blueant support lady told me she would not issue a RMA, as it was likely due to a phone incompatibility

Newegg issued a RMA with no restocking fee...and they even sent a pre-paid UPS label.

Back to the drawing board...Plantronics 655, 855? Jabra? Moto? Grr...

One of the Z9 techs told me that it is designed to turn off when you plug it in to the charger. He said you can't use it while it's plugged in anyway, but had no answer when I said it's stoopid to have to turn it back on when someone calls while it's charging. That said, I just remember to turn it back on as soon as I plug it in, and that works. BTW, it will work when it's plugged in (and turned on), if you can stand the charging plug hanging from your ear.

Over all, the sound is great, but I did have some problems such as when wearing the headset on my right ear and the phone on my left hip, it loses the BT connection while walking, and I get a lot of static when it does stay connected.

I have gone back to my Plantronics 510 mainly because it's much easier to switch back and forth between my PPC-6800 and my work cell phone. I bought mine off eBay, so I probably can't return it. I could be persuaded to sell it, if the price is right.

Wow. I've had mine for a few months now and use it vigorously every day. The only time I ever had to re-pair with my phone was a few weeks ago, when I reflashed the z9 firmware.

I also have not seen the white noise issue during calls.

Almost sounds like you got a dud...

I may have gotten a dud, but since the tech was unwilling to replace it for me, I have no patience for Blueant as a company. I've just ordered a Voyager 855 from techonweb for $70 with shipping. Wish me luck!

Is the Blueant Z9 maybe just incompatible with our Titans? I picked one up today and I heard the white noise in the background and the speaker quality was horrible. Also, the person on the other line said I wasn't clear either.

Used V3.3. Weird huh? It seems like overall it gets good reviews with other phones though...

I have a 6700, and the support rep told me that "the Z9 has compatibility issues with that phone." That's when she flat-out refused to help me anymore. It's a good thing Newegg had a 30 day return policy

I had 2 voyager 510s, first one people heard me better than on the phone itself, second one, people couldn't hear me all that well.. changed a few phones in between too, few OSs, nothing... not sure why. it's still better than the 2 other headsets i've tried, a jabra and a motorolla. (forget model numbers for now)

as for my next headset, it'll be this thing:

No problems here with the Z9.
I really like that retro one!

oh please, say good things about it. It seems like it'd be the perfect headset for me, but the lack of reviews are keeping me away. BTW, I tried the bt8040 when it dropped to $50 @ frys. Unfortunately it wasnt for me. It sounded & talked OK, but I couldn't get used to the earpiece. It comes with about 8 sizes and none of them felt comfortable.
