Nope, as far as I can tell, it can't be turned off. There's nothing in the manual, on the Plantronics website, or anywhere on the web that I could find.
I think you may be onto something in suggesting this idea, though. I feel like I'm "one tweak away" from getting it to work really well. In the meantime, this skipping stuff is driving me nuts. Any ideas welcome! kal |

Or maybe we should just put a rubberband around our heads to hold it on. Like these guys lol

Finally! My Plantronics 655 came today, and it fits PERFECTLY! No sound issues like with the Jawbone, no white noise or pairing problems like with the Z9, and the ear bud is far more comfortable than the 855 "in-canal" type. w00t!

Re: Best Bluetooth Headset
I got the Plantronics 855 a week ago. Awesome, Beautiful.
I'm gonna skip details on the mono aspect. They work great, sound great. The multi earbuds are good but the defaults worked great for me. I'm using them with my 680 Mogul. Stereo sound was ok but for in ear plugs they appeared to lack in bass. I downloaded and installed the SRS WOW HD audio plugin and....well it was just WOW. You wouldn't believe the amount of bass these babies can pump out. One of the biggest complaints I've heard about the 855 is that they give an appearance that "you are one of those people that wear a BT headset all day". To be honest. I don't see what is wrong with that. In this era of on demand requests, having a headset eliminates you picking up your phone every two mins. Furthermore. The headset portion is really smal and good looking. It has a sliding boom mic just in case you need it. |
