Use Phone as wifi modem

I've looked all over and cant seem to make this work. My goal is to use the wifi not the data transfer to connect my Linux laptop and xp desktop to the internet. Ive read a lot info on setting up a dial up connection but i do not want to use the data connection. I just want to use my phone as a wireless card. Thanks in adavance

I know what you mean...was a college student ..back in the days.....the reasons I told you to get a adapter..was we had a thread with the same question...and when it came down to it at the end, buying the adapter was the best way to go.

Re: Use Phone as wifi modem

Besides, as long as you go with Wireless Standard a/b/g, the prices aren't really bad at all. Anyways, your device only has Wifi Wireless Standard A/B I think anyways, so you would probably get better speeds since USB is limited to USB 2.0- standards. I think they are as cheap as $20.00 in some places.
