I guess it's the night for OEMs for me.

I've also added
  • Optional_SlideSound1.02
    PocketCM_Keyboard_EN_0.1 (rename PCM.settings.ini to settings.ini if used without PocketCM_0.7b)
and I've fixed
  • Optional_PocketCM_0.7b (for compatibility w/ PocketCM_Keyboard_EN_0.1)
Optional_psShutXP (removed trash at end of initflash.txt)
    Optional_SIPChange (now runs in-place)

SlideSound will lock your keyboard to it's current layout. Hopefully the author can fix this limitation so users can use the alternate SIPs. In the meantime, to change SIP with SlideSound installed: kill SlideSound process, change your SIP, then restart slidesound.

Why is the PCM theme no longer zipped? Is it cause it's shared with PCM Keyboard?

Give me a couple mins and I'll fix the form to be treated as a dialog (no minimize button, so the slidesound.exe actually exits on "ok") You are talking about the slidesound.exe and not the slidesoundservice being the problem, right? SlideSound.exe can be left closed too, because SlideSoundService does all the work. Your sounds will still play.

As to why it's doing that I have no idea right now because it doesn't touch the SIP. The only thing the service checks for is orientation of the screen and the config panel (slidesound.exe) doesn't even do that.

Edit:
Version 1.04 can be found here.
Also a small changelog is in that post.

By the way... What is not letting you change SIPs? The SIP panel in the menu bar of other applications or the Control Panel?

Yeah, um, I guess I should have emptied that .zip before adding .7b to it. I uploaded the correct one now.

Your SIPChange edit to make it run at startup isn't working for me. The SIPCHange prompt isn't visible.

No, I meant slidesoundservice.exe is the problem. Killing it let's the SIP change. I tried both SIPchange and the SIPpanel in the menu bar. My guess is that you didn't release a registry key after inspecting it. I can't recall if I was changing to one of the built in SIPs or PCMkeyboard 0.1. I think I tried both.

Hmm.. weird. I've tried to reproduce that with SlideSound 1.03 and 1.04 with the service running the whole time and with/without SlideSound.exe running. I'm only using the built-in SIPs though.

It could be that I'm pooling a registry value, but in VB.NET the getvalue/setvalue does what it does and closes it. I'll see what I can come up with for 1.05.

Another thing I just remembered with this is that both exe's can get/set the same values too without problems... Either way, I can get rid of the registry pooling as soon as I move a few things around.

Can you be a little more specific about "just installed the new stuff"?

Did you try closing your COM :P

Start Wmodem before plugging in the USB cable.
