Wireless modem issues
Did I do something wrong or am I just an idiot? Are other people having this same problem?
I’ve been playing with Wireless Sharing under this new ROM and when I try to install the PPC6700 drivers under windows xp no matter what I chose it wouldn’t allow inf file to load. Out of frustration I decided to look under the Device Instance ID under the “Generic Serial (prototype remember to change idVendor)†that was showing up in Device Manager and noticed it changed to USB\VID_045E&PID_0079 when the .inf file floating around everywhere on the internet says USB\VID_0BB4&PID_00CF. So I did a find replace on each entry in the inf file saved and tried again and BAM it worked. I don’t know if anyone else is having this issue so I’m attaching the file to the message as well. I added some ; with the old and new lines that I added, there was only 3 changes finds of this string. Admins, if this is bad or causes some unknown issues feel free to edit my message but I just wanted to attempt to give something back for all of your hard work on these ROM builds! |

To prevent customizations - you could flash a blank ext_rom (then you'll never have to worry about this when using the kitchen again), or when the "customizing in 3 seconds" popup shows, push the reset button. Please note that some of the ready-made ROMs load their own ext_ROM image in addition to the normal CE ROM image, and you want customizations to run in those cases (read the ROM creator's installation instructions). |

Re: No Send/Receive in Outlook Mail Messaging
Thanks dprout69, but I know this used to work because this is the way I have done it since the old Pocket PC days. I was just wondering if there was a registry key that was missed.

SMS Issues: Maybe it's not the DLL...
Just wanted to bump this a bit... looks like it's getting lost in the bug thread and I wanted to make sure the mods and devs saw it since it may debunk what we thought was a fix...

avatar120, it's not clear from your last message on this what your final outcome was. Did the OEM_Helmi_Addition patch fix your issue? Did the additional SMS_Providers.dll registry change do so? Did neither? Everyone, if you have experienced concatenated SMS From and Message fields please chime in with the results of these patches. Again we currently advise trying luv2chills patch to OEM_Helmi_Addition first. |
