There have been a couple posts regarding SMS messages not being split in 2 when larger than 160 chars.

A post in the 1.41 Radio Thread seems to indicate this may be related to the 1.41 radio update.

Also mms does come through as well, no prob there either. when a txt is split is when the problem occurs, however I can send txt with 160+ letters in it and the other person will receive them, just I can't receive txt 160+. I've never had a prob like this before

Kolano - can you update the first post regarding SpB Diary and Spb Weather? It should say Spb Pocket Plus and Spb Weather. Or just Resolve SpbServices.exe conflict.

Just a quick update on the PhoneExt_Services.dll

I was having other problems and needed to do a hard reset. Being as I was happy with the rest of my setup, I tried a backup I had (spbbackup) only I chose custom and went through restoring everything EXCEPT I unchecked the phoneext_services.dll, let the phone reset and copied the smaller dll to the windows directory.

It's been 4 days and no log, no problems.

I think there might be more to the problem than just this DLL in and of itself.

I use Alltel as well, and I have been running v1.0.2 since it was released. SMS works fine for me and I haven't seen any of the issues reported. I checked my registry and for the above key I have the "stock" setting (HTC_SMS_Providers.dll). Yet, it all works fine for me.

So, perhaps it is something else, or a combination of this DLL and one of the OEMs? I'm running a pretty basic ROM... I can get you a list of OEMs if it will help.
answerman, Thanks. Currently we are sticking with suggesting

avatar120, it's not clear from your last message on this what your final outcome was. Did the OEM_Helmi_Addition patch fix your issue? Did the additional SMS_Providers.dll registry change do so? Did neither?

Everyone, if you have experienced concatenated SMS From and Message fields please chime in with the results of these patches. Again we currently advise trying first.
Hi,
I'm using a Sprint PPC-6700. I've carefully gone through all the steps outlined above. I've been very careful to slim down the optional stuff to almost nothing.

Still getting text messages mixed in with the sender info.

What's the next step? Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I'm resetting the phone after registry changes, maybe I need to find an older DLL?

Thanks,
B.

Though I trust your statement above, we need to more specifically understand your configuration to help. Can you provide a few more bits of info...
Which patches have you applied to the kitchen?
Which kitchen options have you selected when building your ROM?
If you are applying edits post flashing your phone, what specific steps did you take to do so?
Have you cleared your phones extrom, and if not, have you been sure to reset your phone during its initial startup to avoid the built in carrier customizations?
