I think there might be more to the problem than just this DLL in and of itself.

I use Alltel as well, and I have been running v1.0.2 since it was released. SMS works fine for me and I haven't seen any of the issues reported. I checked my registry and for the above key I have the "stock" setting (HTC_SMS_Providers.dll). Yet, it all works fine for me.

So, perhaps it is something else, or a combination of this DLL and one of the OEMs? I'm running a pretty basic ROM... I can get you a list of OEMs if it will help.
answerman, Thanks. Currently we are sticking with suggesting luv2chills patch to OEM_Helmi_Addition.

avatar120, it's not clear from your last message on this what your final outcome was. Did the OEM_Helmi_Addition patch fix your issue? Did the additional SMS_Providers.dll registry change do so? Did neither?

Everyone, if you have experienced concatenated SMS From and Message fields please chime in with the results of these patches. Again we currently advise trying luv2chills patch to OEM_Helmi_Addition first.
