That's weird, ruscalr. The only other person who reported that problem solved it by not installing the cabs from his extrom.

I'm not altogether sure, but give that file I attached a few posts ago a shot and build again with the kitchen. Are you adding any OEMs to it? Installing anything from a cab file? Provide as much detail as you can, and please let me know if the file fixes it.

True, after not letting the customization run, everything works fine for sms on sprint. Only issue I have now is wmodem doesn't seem to work. It looks like my computer cannot find a driver for it even though I used the same computer with my phone before I updated my rom. Internet sharing works tho.

Are users on any other carrier experiencing this same issue? I encourage everyone (who has a text messaging plan, anyway) to test the ability to send and receive SMS to and from your own carrier and other carriers. If you are having the same issue the verizon users are experiencing you can try this file as well, but please report in here so I can know which carriers are affected.
I'm reflashing right now to test it out

Sweet! The problem of SMS to other carriers is resolved by replacing the file in the OEM_Helmi_Addition with the file listed above from Luv. Replace the file before flash, and you can now send and recieve to other carriers. Thanks luv2chill!

I found out early this morning that changing the SMS provider in:
HLKM\Comm\Cellular\SMS\Protocol\Text from HTC_SMS_Providers.dll to SMS_Providers.dll fixed it - I was tired and went to sleep - glad there is a patch now.

Now, my system (ActiveSync) sees that I have One Note Mobile on my PPC, but it won't sync my existing mobile files to my PPC (and doesn't give me the option to check a box next to One Note in the ActiveSync "Options" dialog box).

Any thoughts?
Never mind. After poking around, I discovered the issue. It had nothing to do with the ROM and everything to do with the idiot user. I didn't realize that flashing the ROM had renamed my device "Apache", which caused One Note to see it as a new device. As a result, my old notes weren't syncing because One Note didn't know it was connected to the same device. I changed my device name on my PPC and all was resolved.

shweet

Got my vision working. Just needed to let the phone using the stock rom setup the first boot config. Then that allowed me to use the ## code i needed for seting up IOTA.

good now. Ill give my cooked 3.5 another go and this time no backup. (or ill test sprite and see if they have fixed their issues finally.)

Shweet Shweet Shweet!!!

if you really want to hear about weird, take this for a spin. After posting my first message last night, i went to sleep (it was almost 3a local) and when i got to the office this morning i got a text from my little brother and it worked right. His phone number was in the from field and after i synced my contacts his next text had his name in the from field. I looked to make sure i wasn't going crazy and the texts from yesterday are still in the inbox with bad from fields... they say time heals all wounds, but this is insane. My only guess is that Alltel (or Verizion, I'm roaming in Tulsa right now) was having some problems with a relay device and it was what was screwing with the messages.

I have to say, even though i've seen it a million times around here, this upgrade make the device a lot more pleasant to deal with. Its faster, smoother, more stable, and I swear I'm getting a better battery life. Thanks to all of you guys who worked on these roms, and the kitchens (now I'm gonna try making my own OEMs and I feel like a little kid going to Disney World).

Thanks all!

:: EDIT :: on a side note, seeing that I was brilliant enough to not make a backup of the Alltel ExtROM before removing their cabs I forsee a small issue should I ever try to take it to them for help; so if someone has the files for the Alltel ExtROM and wouldn't mind sending them my way, just drop me a PM so we can set that up. Thanks.
