Just a quick question, I thought that you couldn't downgrade a radio version, that the updater prevented it.

Did something change or did this only apply to the full packages that Sprint and the other carriers use that modify the other components in the phone as well.

Any input would be greatly appreciated before trying this new radio out.

Thanks

Yeah, of course you can downgrade. Also, the radio upgrade has nothing to do with the carriers. All it does is update the radio stack in your phone (ie beter signal, bletooth, wifi)

one more note - i'm using the sprint 2.06 wwe rom
i have read that it just didn't work for some people and they had to go back to the original radio but i just wanted to make sure that i was doing everything correct before i did that. the update to the 1.41 version was successful by looking at the system-device info screen
thanks again

As stated above, I'm not real sure with Sprint. Try *2 then hit dial. Worth a shot.

I just updated the prl on the phone and it works a lot better now!!Before upgrading to radio 1.41 I normally only had 1 bar on the sprint network at home and 1x. After the upgrade it dropped to 0 bars. But after I updated the prl like everyone was suggesting my signal jumped to 3-4 bars and EV at home. Updating the prl was easy on sprint - just dial *2 like phoenx06 said and ask for technical support. Just tell the rep that you want a prl update and they will set one up for you. When you hang up with them, just dial *2 again and the automated system will do the update for you. It will reset your phone at the end, but I didn't lose any info that I had on it.
Thanks again Phoenx06 for the great program and to everyone else for the great work that you are doing.

I'll post again if/when I learn more... JKT
I'm a Sprint user and using XP Pro. I did the update without a hitch and it REALLY works GREAT.

Make sure and put it in boot loader mode first (push the power button on top, and the record/voice command button on the side, and push the reset button on the bottom next to the USB all at the same time). The screen will appear blank, but if you look closely, it says "serial". Next, plug in your USB cable; it will then say "USB" instead of serial. Unzip the folder and run the very bottom/last file. Follow the onscreen prompts and when it finishes, unplug your USB cable and "soft reset" instead of hard (just push the reset button on the bottom next to the USB connection).

If you do this, it should work withou a problem. Thanks Pheonix!!!!!

I updated my phone last night, but haven't seen any improvement at home - sadly.

Does this update include all the improved drivers I've heard mentioned for the official 3.5 ROM's? Specifically, I'd heard with the new drivers - bluetooth functionality had improved greatly.

I cant stress this enough guys, this has nothing to do with your rom. This is just an upgrade to your radio stack, completely different and set aside from the actuall rom. To get the updated drivers from the new 3.5 rom, you will have to put the 3.5 rom on your phone.
