Well I was using the Clean and Simple ROM but it wasn't working well with VC and bluetooth. Now I am running this one and it is pretty nice. I do hate that any ROM has any sort of trial software on it, but Wisbar is only 5 bucks (even though I already paid for Spb P+), I was thinking about buying XCPUScalar so I guess I'll have to, but I'll never pay for bejeweled.

I honestly see no difference between 412 and 520mhz. What kind of benefits will I get besides lower battery life?

Thanks for your work on this ROM. Still trying to find the perfect one, this is as close as I can get for now.

Use file explorer or whatever to go to the \windows\start menu\ and all the stuff is organized there. Just have to move shortcuts around.

Goodlink

The post included here was on the [locked] pr5 topic. Can anybody verify that Goodlink is working on either the pr5 or pr6 releases? Thanks

.....

HEY, good news.

remember that goodlink stuff? it works.. i guess i just assumed other peoples with goodlink and aku 3.5 were universal and didnt do any troubleshooting for myself..

hard reset, reinstalled sp5, hard reset, installed gl before anything else, after 1st sync.

its going... now for sp1, i hadnt tried that before.. now that this is going im going to set this thing up to do more than just hold me over til the ppc6800.

maybe even iphone skin?

....

mmicha, mgioia2: (Com mgr soft keys) I can not get this to happen on my rom. Can you possibly do a hard reset and check this without loading any other apps? If not can you give me the steps you take from a soft reset, to get to this issue? I just want to make sure I am going into the app the same way you are and see if I can see it. If all else failes I can reflash from my current build to the PR6 and see if I can repro it there. I am just trying not to do so as I am trying an duration test on my test rom. Also my test rom does not have the reader app. Are you using the reader as that could introduce something new that I would not see.

chuque: The best way would be to make a cab to import your registry data that you would extract from your current rom. Any real backup tool should not be used between rom versions at it will replace registry data from the old rom. I basicly just re-enter my data after resetting, but most of my changes/tweaks are already added to the rom so its a bit different for me.

romulus15: "Re-asociating mp3's in Mort causes them to break again?" Are you asking or stating? Sorry wanted to make sure. As to notifications, it could be wisbar, but this is the same version that was run on pr5sp1, did you run that version? Ill have to let my battery die and see if I get the wron icon. It could be that the image was acidently removed from the rom (doubtful but possible) and its defaulting to the other.

maximum360: I would just organise your startmenu items while connected to the pc. Much easier to organize that way. But I will looke ot see if the attributes on the links are causing the issues. I actuly never use the device to change these so i never honestly tested that feature.

PPCFreak: I am not sure how to save these off. I would post post this in the main thread (more visability) and see if another user has the answer.

valenciag: Send me a PM as a reminder and I will get that to you when I can. I'll also post it on the fixes area in case anyone else needs it.

jendand: Mort will play/pasue without VC as this is a feature of the AVCR. As to the skipping, is it only for the first 20 sec? It's possible that VC is what is cauing device.exe to use 99% of the cpu for that time and what is causing the issue and not WMP. Since you are re-associating vc to mort. Does WMP still skip when you have mort associated??

ecamacho: As to the trial stuff, think of it this way. It does not waste any of your space to incude it (as long as its in the \windows dir) so you can choose to use it or not. That is the only reason I chose to include it as these are all apps I use and pay for and find worth including. Wisbar for instance is core to this roms usability I believe. Yeah I could not really care too much for bejeweled as I used to just keep it on the sd card, but since its not taking up space, I figures it might as well go in the rom As to xcpuscalar I only use it when I need to overclock and don't do that too often. I only load it when I need it. I also thought about removing it but since there was still room for it I left it in.

Van G: To organize the start menu, just use active sync to explore the device when connected. This lets you move everything around from your desktop. Much easier than any other method. Just explore to the "\windows\start menu" directory and have at it.

With these long multi user replies, it would make things easier to "quote" the comments above when replying... should make tracking a bit easier

Saridnour, I already did this and the problem persists before installing other programs. Maybe something got lost when you removed bad/orphaned reg entries to speed things up? Do you know where softkey mapping is addressed in the registry?

jc3273,

I have the (i) phone look you are seeking available in a cab, it uses only Wisbar Advance and rlToday. Wisbar Desktop sucks resource. Do you want to give a try, let me know and I will upload the cable which does the following:

I modified a fellows rlToday Theme a bit and added the following:
- provided on phone button unheard voicemails
- provided on sms button unread sms messages
- provided on mail button unread activesync messages (direct push)
- provided on homemail button unread imap/pop messages

1.) Installs rlToday
2.) Installs rlToday Theme
3.) Sets rlToday Theme
4.) Installs WisBar Advance Theme (Macbook, Black and White)
5.) Sets WisBar Advance Theme
6.) Copies Ring Tones
7.) Copies Various Today Backgrounds for your choosing from now today selection
8.) Changes Windows Mobile Boot screen to Appl)e logo
9.) Unchecks from Today screen standard apps, exception of custom programs you added you will have to uncheck
10.) Install a few additional buttons for future options
11.) Soft Resets
12.) Should have a nice looking phone

All you have to do is install WisBar Advanced 2 at the beginning or not, if you don't you remain with the standard wm5 look. It was build on this ROM and I am making minor updates right now.

Interested?

Nice thing is rlToday is Xml based and fast, only down side is it doesn't yet detect landscape mode so the theme will scroll in landscape, but I find that I don't use the theme in landscape I use it while browsing or email only.

Take care,

mmicha, SportbikeRiderXX: The build i am running has the same edits as to the removed orphaned keys. Only difference is my apps registration data was removed from the reg and it does not have the reader app. Everything else should be about the same. Can you give me the steps you are using or is this happening any way you open comm mgr? I can click the services icon and launch it as well as press and hold on button 4, both of these bring up comm mgr and I have access to the soft keys. Ill do a comp on the reg entries again tonight to verify the differences in the event I am over looking something but when I made pr6 I just did a compare to my test rom and made the edits so it was a side by side comp and change. Also are you using the reader app?

Also if one of you want to export your reg keys for each of the 4 branches, zip and pm them to me, I can do the same and use this as a base to see what is different and can then take that back to the PR6 hive source for comp as well. doing this would be better as what I have now works and yours does not so it would be the best place to start.
