Saridnour,

Looking forward to PR8. If you want, pass me a PM with the password for the next beta and I'll test the MS Reader. I've been away from the board for about a month so I'm just getting caught up. I've got to take my 6700 into the store for a swap (it's not charging right and keeps giving me Battery Status Unknown errors), so I'll be doing a hard reload anyway. Of course, I called the store first to make sure they still had the 6700 in stock

PR8 Beta3
Same Password as 1&2, password is required to open file so this is for current beta testers only!! ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....SSREQUIRED.rar

Fiexes:
New JVM and fixed reg entries
new Xcpuscalar
reg cleanup

this should be the release candidate.

As to TCPMP, this is looks to be an issue with this being the latest release of the freeware version .81rc1, I had been using .71 in the earlier roms and this could be the reason behind the reported issues. All the reg entries are the same between them so its down to the app itself. I can revert to the old, but I do like this new version better. Let me know if this is a major issue to anyone or if its liveable. It is also possible to replace the exe with the earlier and you should be back to .71 if need be.

Ill be out of town this week and offline. Please help support each other and talk about issues until I return and we will see if this is ready for public release.

Saridnour - my 2 cents on the TCPMP issue. I've been using TCPMP regularly with the original beta. I really like the new TCPMP - to me the screen rotation issues are very minor. The video always shows up in whatever orientation I set it to in settings. So I'd like to keep the new version of TCPMP.

Thanks again for the great ROM, I've been running the PR8 beta one since inception and it's been rock solid. The best ROM I've ever run.

TCPMP is not a serious issue for me, I just assumed it would be an easy fix for Saridnour.

What are the advantages of .81rc1 over .71?

I'm getting an error. Country ID Error and it won't let me load the ROM. I see that it's also trying to update the radio to 1.41.

Edit: Rerunning (back to back while phone still in bootloader mode) got past the Country ID Error message. Searching around had someone else noting the same behaviour for another ROM with the same solution. So if at first it doesn't succeed, try, try again

Saridnour,

Any chance that if you're staying with TCPMP .72RC1 we can add in the Flash Video Bundle.cab?

I realize it's the 11th hour but, I just tried this out on the beta (I had to re-install TCPMP from the .cab file at the following link) and it works great over EVDO.

The TCPMP cab provided is preconfigured to work with the Flash Video Bundle cab at the same link. When you load these two cabs videos at google and youtube run without any kind of trickery. Just click on the vid in PIE and it opens TCPMP and it streams the video. After the video is finished TCPMP is exited.

Does that setup not work with the latest TCPMP? I've still not figured out what the advantage of the newest TCPMP is yet...

SportbikeRiderXX,

I first tried just installing the Flash Video Bundle and found that setup did NOT automatically work with the standard configured TCPMP that is bundled with the PR8 Beta. I had to reinstall TCPMP from the cab provided. One good note is that it appears that it just overwrote the TCPMP exe that was bundled in the ROM.

The videos stream very well over EVDO even with just 1 or 2 bars.
