You could look throgh http://ppcgeeks.toreishi.org/P4DB/ch...0&ignore=GO%21 as only you could tell for sure. There are several updated files, and registry updates. Your rom rocks, stability and speed are excelent! It's just now that the UR is out, I was hoping you would add your majic to the mix. Colonel, and jbaby both have updated and yes they have made some changes to the steps they were doing, but it would be the most complete that way.
Regardless if you decide to or not, this has been the most reliable rom I have used, and I offer a huge thank you from many users for that!! Quote:

Data network
This rom is awesome. Everything is working for me but the data network connection. I have no 1x or evdo. I remember reading something before on this and it was a com port issue? Anyone have this issue?

jendand: Oh ok, sorry about that. I did not know it made it's own startup shortcut. Well the only other thing I say to try is packing it in your own rom. Just follow wideawakes post on building a rom (not the kitchen version). Its jsut a matter of unpacking the rom file (sort of like unzipping it) modifing the initfiles.dat and adding the exe to the extracted folder then repacking it. Really is an easy process.
nuguy: I will oribably do a diff of the reg and files between the released kitchen and my roms base and see if I can note the changes, but the reg can be a nightmare to comp and the file differences may show a difference but not what is "better". I really am a firm believer in "if it ain't broke, donlt fix it" so there may not be much change. Who knows, my differences could be what sets it apart ![]() m.gantlett: It sounds like you are not setting up the providers data provisioning. Are you running the extended rom? What carrier are you on? There have been a number of posts with what carrier requires what data to be entered to get the data network provisioned. May want to do a quick search back through this thread or the main forum thread. -saridnour |

lkjfdsa: For sprint, load these from the extended rom (search the forum is you do not know how to access the extended rom, also a dbl click on the url of total commander will bring it up in the hotlist). The cabs to load are: cert_spcs.cab, customize_spcs.sa.cab, IOTA.sa.cab. These are all part of the last released offical print extended and all I run from the extended rom.
klurf8881: You need to do a bit of reading ![]() ![]() -saridnour |

saridnour,
I think I stumbled across an easy way to reduce the number of soft reset lockups. A few weeks ago, I'd installed Mortbuttons, never used it, but noticed it put itself second in order of startup: VC, Mortbuttons, wisbar, ... . During that time I got very few lockups. So, I decided to experiment with changing the order of startup. The default order (with just VC installed) is: VC, wisbar, poutlook, cleartempexpress. SKTools won't change the order for some reason. But I found that if I deleted all the startup links from windows/startup then manually replaced them in the order I wanted, that would change the startup order (as indicated in SKTools). Anyway, I changed the order to: VC, poutlook, cleartemp, wisbar. I tried this order because putting Mortbuttons between VC and wisbar had worked. I just now did 20 soft resets and not an single lockup. Before, with the original order, I was getting about 20 - 25% lockups. Anyway, it seems their frequency is much reduced. jendand Later Edit: More trials shows this work-around helps but is not perfect. I'm still getting somewhere between 5 - 10% lockups. |
