Are you usning xcpuscalar? I actusaly noticed an improvment in my battery after running 3.3+ roms. Anyone else seeing an issue?
I believe I experienced the same problem before upgrading XCPUScalar to the latest (purchased) version. It should be tested more as I think I've also heard others mention the same issue. I had all kinds of strange issues with XCPUScalar. With one of Colonels ROMS I couldn't get BT Stereo to work until I installed XCPUScalar and then oddly enough the BT worked.
Then one of the Sar-rom's with the XCPUScalar seemed to make the phone get smokin' hot (battery drain) with the normal 416mhz default. Not sure what fixed it, or even if it might have been caused from one of my other changes, but worth noting is that the full version XCPUScalar is a potential key difference.

The changes will be in the next pr as a sp will be adding a number of files to the storage, unless people dont care and need it as an upgrade path.
I think it is understood that you haven't documented all the changes you've done, so I don't see how a sp would even be feasible.

I would still vote for a sp over a pr. Well, ideally, both.
I've already installed the world and I still have plenty of room to play with. So if a sp will just take up a few more MB then no problems here. Although I don't know exactly how much free space (if any) is needed for the OS to cache and elbow room...perhaps that space is part of the hidden memory.

Raging Idiot: I do know the changes from rom to rom as I keep all of the removed, replaced and added as well as both hive files; for each rev. It's just a matter of diffing the hives and manageing the files. In an SP I just need to add the "added" files then copy the reg changes. I would just need to go back to two revs pr5 and pr6 and pull what I can into a cab. The big issue is that the sp will not have the files removed and will not be the same as a rom as the files are in memory and could cause the
OS to run differently than those who just install the rom. Small changes as well as reg entries are no problem, there are just a number of file changes so it gets a bit interesting and risky. I can track back all changes from the first rev if need be, it just a matter of time to do it and I have tried to document the visable changes and effects rather than spec each change as anyone can pull the roms apart and identify the changes.

there,s a whole huge thread over at pdaphonehome about XCPUscaler it has a good ammount of testing on this device as Anton (I think) the developer has a apache. He got it working pretty sweet on the 2.x roms according to several people over there.

I know that the apache handles idle scaling at the processer level and you should not use scaling when idle. There's a ton of info in that thread and the developer was very responsive. Definitly worth the read if you want to set it up right.

I was having a good experience with a little ap from the i730 forum (@ pdaphonehome) from superdave called autostep it worked great to bring the speed up to 520 in the 2.x roms and wouldn't work at all in helmis 3.3. I haven't tried on yours yet, but will try it now and if it works I'll pm it to ya so you can see if you like it...

EDIT:
IT WORKS GREAT!
so I'm posting it here.

IT'S NOT REALLY A ZIP FILE, rename the extension to .cab - install - enjoy!
it runs transparently at boot. to change settings run the ap from start-programs-autostep.

IMPORTANT:
BEFORE setting wakeup to 520 set speed to 520 and try it out for a bit, including suspend-wakeup.

If it works well, THEN set wake speed to 520 and ALWAYS choose minimize not exit (unless you want to close it and loose the speed boost).

It is lightweight, and scales properly, and just works!

Great rom...Any possibility of having the following applications installed in the next release; MS SQL Mobile 2005, and Pocket Xpdf 0.5.

I can provide the cabs if you need them.

Has anyone seen a slow down in the phone since the upgrade?
I love the ROM, just get frustrated with the long delays and such...
anyone have similar slow downs? I was running O2 operating
screen, weather to go and PPC6700 hack programs but it didn’t
plug in too well and the today plug ins kept disappearing.
Any speed tips?

thanks again for the ROM and Keep up the great work!

nickm: The xcpuscalr app is a registered exe so you will need to copy your exe to the \windows dir and this will mask the one in the rom and give you a registered app.

enracaed: I am not really looking to add too much more to this release so these will most likely not make it into the next ROM PR. There is a lot of storage space left free with this rom so there should be no issues installing them to the devices storage memory. As a whole, I try not to add any apps that I am not currently using as this allows me to fully test the rom and allows me to make only two per release, one with my data and reg'd apps and another with the trial software. This also alows for very tight control of bugs in both release. That being said, I may look at the pdf as I was looking to add this functionality to the ROM itself. I was running adobe's from my storage card, but the app had a complex directory structrue that would not map well to the required flat windows dir. of a rom. Maybe this will do better.

vc exe

Thanks evilgenius for setting me straight on getting internet back, forgot it was that simple.
I did buy VC 1.6 last night and couldn't figure out how to just copy the exe to /window directory. Now I've got the full app installed chewing up memory. Yes, I did search, but need a walk through I guess. Anyone want to enlighten me? Thanks.

Well, I guess F the SP because I may need to reflash ROM anyway.

I want to get OggSync or GmobileSync to work and could not do so with my current configuration. That's not to say it will not work for others with this ROM, it's just that I might have other conflicts particular with my setup of programs.

If anyone (with 3.5) is able to sync a calendar application with "Google Calendar" then I certainly would like to know. The two apps I tried hang and then give "unknown error" response regarding something to the effect of potentially missing POutlook dependencies.

Since you've installed it, now you have a working/registered version of the "voicecmd.exe" file.
Find "voicecmd.exe" in the \windows folder on your 6700, and copy it to another place. I copied it to my storage card so I can have it whenever I do another hard-reset.
Then Uninstall VC 1.6.
I'm pretty sure, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the program will still be installed on your device because it's in the ROM.
Now, copy the "voicecmd.exe" file back to the \windows folder and it should work fine.
