Cool, thanks guys. I'll wait for the new final ROM.
After a couple days use of r4 I'm just not finding any negative issues. No lockup overnight on cradle or other glitchiness that I had using Colonel's 3.3.3 ROM. This is my first 3.5 and I'm duly impressed and the installed programs are just what I need. Now, if only VC would work with TCMP I'd be totally set. Also, battery life seems quite good compared to 3.3.3. I have Exchange on full time and my battery was draining (with very little actual talk time) to 20% by the end of the day. It's about 15 minutes to quittin time right now and I've still got 50% battery under same circumstances. |

Sorry if this is common knowledge, but I'm excited by this find. If you do this and associate your media types to TCPMP, Voice Command does work like a charm with TCPMP. Thank the lord:
#2. Using The Core Pocket Media Player to replace Windows Media Obtained from the HTC Wizard blog as well as seen on the orb.com forums, this hack makes TCPMP the standard application for streams instead of Windows Media Player which, in my experience has had a harder time streaming video and playlists. - Associate TCPMP with Windows Media (.asx) in the TCPMP configuration (Options > Settings > Select Page > File Associations) - Use a Registry Editor to navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:W MPLAYER - In the String Value 1, replace wmplayer.exe with the path to TCPMP (“\Program Files\TCPMP\player.exe†when you have TCPMP installed in main memory, “\Storage Card\Program Files\TCPMP\player.exe†when you have TCPMP installed on your memory card). Include the quotes! If you refer to the link above regarding this hack, they mention also that if you tend to prefer TCPMP, you can associate it with more or even all media types. |

I tried your settings. Seems to work except for one little problem. No sound is coming out. The song title scrolls across the top, the digital clock ticks off the time, and the song progress bar moves across the screen, but there is silence -- except for an occasional little screech. Got any ideas? I tried using Voice Command via Bluetooth stereo headphones, and got the same results. It would open the album in TCPMP, but the commands "stop" and "next tract" didn't seem to work. Despite the problems, this is very promising. If we could truly replace wmplayer with TCPMP, that would be a great step forward. For one thing, the A2DP skipping problem with WMP would be a thing of the past! --jendand LATER EDIT: Come think of it, I tried playing wma files in TCPMP without success before making these reg changes. The only thing I've been playing (successfully) in TCPMP is pls streams. Anybody else having a problem like that? |

I wonder why some are having a skipping problem and some are not.
I don't have this problem, but I've done many changes. I could track back and potentially isolate the problem/fix if it is occuring after the next rom release. For those of you with the skipping in the very beginning then a "worst case scenario" type fix could be to just add a few seconds buffer to all your tracks. Such a simple solution I'm suprised no one else has mentioned it. I used GoldWave for this type of buffering and title spacing when I first learned to use it a number of years ago for cracking/converting Audible books to mp3. If anyone does this, first just try it on one and if it works then batch process all of them with the buffer and then let us know results... ![]() |
