Is the PR5 going to have the ## fix already attached to it?

My vote is to go ahead and let her rip. I got so used to flashing my phone over the last few months that I can do it in my sleep now if I need to.

Again, I'm just one person who doesn't contribute much (mostly a lurker here), but I really hope the pr5 has the OLD/original version of solitaire. The new version is hard to see and has a ClearType look to it. ClearType is EVIL.

Thanks either way, Saridnour!

I'm very interested in the Bluetooth/WMP/skipping issue. I'm also interested in this hack (from last night) allowing the use of VC with TCPMP. Because I could not get TCPMP to play my wma files, all of which I got from Napster, I decided to do a hard reset, just in case my TCPMP was messed up somehow. It didn't make any difference. TCPMP still would not play those Napster wma files. Then I download a couple of free wma music files and tried them. IT WORKED! They played just fine in TCPMP. So, now I'm wondering why won't TCPMP play the files from Napster?? Are those files protected somehow, so that only WMP can play them?

So then I tried using VC to play the two (free) wma files in TCPMP, and VC will play them, but I couldn't get "stop" or "next track" to work. On the other hand, mn3kgtvr4 says these commands work for him.

As for skipping with BT stereo, there was initially a very small amount of skipping during my testing, like a second or two during the first 10 seconds of playback. I then increased the buffer settings in TCPMP and haven't had any skipping during more than a dozen trials. Nothing that good ever happened with WMP. By the way, my quality setting for the A2DP key is 48.

In summary, I wish I could confirm the complete control of the media by VC that mn3kgtvr4 observes. But I can't. The "play" command works, that's all. I'd be very interested in what others find. As for making, TCPMP the default player, I'm not even sure what that means. Do you mean you'd pre-set the file associations to favor TCPMP over WMP. That's easy enough to do manually. Are you thinking of leaving WMP out of the rom altogether? Anyway, I'm happy with whatever you decide.

As I explained above, I guess the problem of wma files not playing in TCPMP is somehow connected with where the files come from. Maybe it's a licensing problem? These Napster files that won't play in TCPMP will play just fine in WMP, by the way. It does not seem to be a problem with the TCPMP in your rom, however.

Hope some of this helps! .... Get well!!!!

I was playing around with Next Track and Stop in my car over lunch and it appeared to be working...weirdly enough. Trying it out tonight I can't get it to replicate other than it will pull up another artist, as in it searches out something based on my words...in other words next track doesn't seem to work. Stop really seemed to be working though,,,but not now. So much for multitasking in a noisy environment.
However, I did have my girlfriend help me test out the pause/resume function with her calling me several times and that's rock solid as usual. So,,,"Play" works great, but other options are iffy at best.

from napster? isn't this where you buy stuff to listen? if so, that would be DRM protected nO?

Can you play the files with winamp on the comp or some other player other than windows media player? When you go the the ppc, the player that should play it is windows media player, seeing as it can read the protections, tcpmp is not that well suited for DRM protected files.

PR5 is now up.
You can download here: ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....KU3.5+_pr5.rar

See first post for details.

Note: decided to leave WMP as the default at least for this release.
Wisbar update will be in next release and my not be too far out!

ID Transfer

Hello,

Love this build and have been playing with every version so far on my xv6700, love the splash screen.

So far I haven't had any major issues with the exception of:

- idtransfer does work so I can MSVC 1.6 announce the caller in my BT headset.

Any resolutions to this. I have no desire to listen to music on this unit as it is a PDA/Phone.

Another note:

I have noticed at times that my Direct Push will just stop in the night but all is up, all I need to do is force a refresh. I am making sure it isn't anything I did.

Respectfully

schwos: Only BT headphones I have are Stereo only, so I can't test with phone functions. From my understanding VC 1.6 should allow the caller anouncment without another app. As to the direct push, I have mine on 24/7 and do not throttle it at any time. Only issue I have had was the internet dropped all together once (IE would not load, etc) even though it said connected. I was in a building without reception earlier and attibuted it to that but have not seen it any other time? Has anyone else seen this?? If not, I would try looking at your 3rd party apps.
