Problem is the upgrade exe won't install on the Desktop saying that I need a previous verison of Voice Command Installed on the desktop not the PPC. So in order to install the upgrade exe, its claming that I need Voice Command 1.x on the Desktop which Voice Command 1.5 came preinstalled on the PPC. So there was no need to put it on the desktop and for what reason it needs to be on the desktop I can't image.

So my dilema is that the the upgrade Voice command 1.6 exe won't run on the Desktop b/c Voice command 1.x is not installed on the Desktop.

I would hate to go and buy the full version of 1.6, knowing that 1.5 was installed on the PPC just not on the desktop, and that I just purchased the upgrade. I was hoping for a work-around for this problem

Vc never came with the ppc, If you purchased the upgrade that was on the presumption that you already had VC 1.x. If not, you will have to email and see if they will give you a full version as you dont have the prev version. PM me for more info.

Okay, here we go:

It looks like I got all of the ClearType settings turned off. Most were in the registry, but even after that I had to go into Wisbar and turn cleartype off there again.

The easiest thing to do is run the registry editor and click on MyDevice and then Tool->Find. Search for the word "clear" and check the boxes for Keys and Values. Go through each one and change any values of "1" or "0", without the quotes of course. The exception was the first key below, which I simply deleted after finding some info online about it. Keep pressing "Find Next" until you've gotten through all of them. Here are the keys if you want to navigate to them manually instead of using "Find":

1. \HKLM\System\GDI\ClearType (Deleted ClearType entry altogether)
2. \HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\In ternet Settings\ClearTypeText (Set to 0)
3. \HKCU\Software\Lakeridge\WisBarLite\ClearType (Set to 0)
4. \HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Shell\ClearType (Set to 0)

Like I said, even after setting the one for Wisbar in the registry, the Start menu fonts were still ClearType. With all your apps closed, click and hold where the "X" or "Ok" button usually appears in the upper right hand corner. When the Wisbar menu pops up, click Settings. The last checkbox on this screen should be "ClearType fonts", make sure it's unchecked and hit "ok" to exit.

That fixed everything for me. I was able to shrink my font size back down to the default size, I had made the fonts larger before because cleartype had made them difficult to read. Let me know if any of this needs clarification. Disclaimer: be careful with regedit if you don't know what you're doing, as you can hose your OS.

Went thru my registry and did the same thing and things look much better now.

I am having a small issue when I open up programs in the menu it freezes for a bit. I am able to get it to come back, but not sure what is going on. It started this after I installed celedial. I seem to be able to remove the sd card and reinsert and it comes back, but I don't think the two are related. I installed celedial to regular ram, but I have installed some programs to sd card, but none that run at startup or are required for the shell.

I guess one thing I have noticed is this seems to happen after a softboot. I run spbpocketplus and two icons on my today screen that launce apps off the sd card and the icons for these reset to "folder icon" after a soft reset. I believe I might be having issues with my sd card right after I soft boot, but it seems be ok after a bit.

mikejr, thank you for those registry changes. Instant relief for my eyes!

Note: My device did not have the \HKLM\System\GDI\ClearType entry and my \HKCU\Software\Lakeridge\WisBarLite\ClearType entry was already set to 0. (I had already disabled it in the wisbarlite settings)

mattdb - the delay issue you speak of is because you installed apps onto your storage card. The OS must retrieve their icons from the card (which is slow), and the OS waits until those icons are retrieved before showing you the Program llist.

Some people have had more problems with this than others. I believe the more apps you have installed to the card the worse it is. Therefore you should try to install as much to the internal storage as possible and use the card primarily for media, GPS maps, etc.

luv2chill: I have always had those apps on my sdcard as I don't have to reinstall them with every hard reset. Wasn't an issue on the older rom.

I can live with it tho for all of the other stuff.

1. have you read the thread " Pic mail after AKU3.3?" It seems that the sprint page that we were sent to on the old hack is different than the page we are sent to with the mms included with rom. My mms configuration tab has "verizon" listed and i can't edit/look at the configuration. the new sprint page won't allo me to enlarge or save pic. Can you offer any advice?

2. Since I have used the new rom PIE has been giving me problems with fonts. the letters will print to the screen 'wide.' ex difference with writing wit mechanical pencil vs. a big fat crayon. Any Ideas?

My prgram request: Voiceminder. it is a voice recorder, but once you stop recording it will email the actual recording to an e-mail address you specify. it helps remind me of voice recording instead of it just sitting in phone because i forgot to listen to it.

TOMTOM takes exactly 15 seconds to load from my storage card.
No matter what I change with glyphcache or XCPUScalar, nothing makes any difference.
I would like to get speed specs on 4gb cards for 6700's. Currently using a generic 2gb.
