I am stuck at a couple steps in the Kitchen tutorial.
6) Check the paths for the Extended rom and the fat16 file - the .\nk.nba and .\nk.nbf paths are correct 7) Click Encode to create the nk.nbf file - The nk.nbf will be created where the Extended rom path points (current folder) I have my nk.nba file in the Convert and flash folder, but when I choose to Encode- as in Step 7- the HTC64 tool gives an error saying: Failed to get FAT16 filesize What do I need to do?

After reading all 9 pages this just keeps getting oh so more tempting. I think I'm about to take the plunge (hope I don't drown!) and before I start I just wanna say THANKS to everyone that helped make this all possible.

Ok...
On the ## stuff. I have sprint and YES they do work. However I no longer load the customize cab, cause shettz made us a OEM that does it for you. And for me that is better anyway. I have ONE small cab file that sets up my email and does one or two other registry tweaks, but everything else is part of the memory. For me the only oddity running this rom has been that when i turned WIFI on while it worked great, once i set the phone down long enough that the screen blanked out, it would keep blanking out and nothing i could do would get it to stop. WIFI might be faster, but not if I have to keep powering backup up!!!!!!!! I had a couple registry entries added, so I'll look to see if any of them did this, but for now, my solution is. Ferget WIFI..

I can't use USB tethering on my Sprint 6700 after flashing the base 3.5 (using this kitchen). I get an "Open Com Error" after I press the "Connect" button in the Wireless Modem application. I could USB tether using 3.3 no problem.
Also, how do you use Internet Sharing? When I run it and select USB and plug it in, Activesync tries to connect and fails. How do we set up the laptop/desktop we want to connect with? My ## codes don't work either, but installing then removing a dialing skin will usually bring back the code acceptance. Thanks again to all who made this kitchen possible. Rob |

Well I just flashed my first attempt at 3.5
Problems off the bat, my OEM for InClose didn't work - had to manually install, will dump reg and see if I can fix that ActiveSync USB fails - cannot put it into 'Serial Mode' (which I need, I cannot sync the other way) says 'Failed to disable RNDIS' So for me, this is still essentially 'no USB sync' - bluetooth sync seems to work ok. Will keep poking away at it, then work on my OEMs again. Was kinda sweet to see 2mb used in internal store, not 20 |
