Yes. Don't worry, if you don't like it, you can easily uninstall it from remove program.s
Can we use the RDP to connect to a XP machine running VNC or does it HAVE to connect to the RD of the XP machine?
You can run both if you like. RDP listens on port 3389 by default so just make sure the VNC server listens on another port. If your question is can I use the RDP client to connect to a VNC server the answer is no. RDP clients can only connect to RDP servers and the same for VNC.

does anyone else have an issue with this rdp client not creating a data connection.. so i have to go to into ie so that it dials the data connection then i can use the rdp client to connect after that..

also what happened to the standard rdp client, does it not work in 3.5? the information seems pretty hidden

I have noticed that the new RDP client will not initiate a dial up connection with a VPN to my work server. This is something that the old RDP client would do. Only work around is to open one up with IE first.

I have included this oem in my custom 3.5 rom, but I am also having the issue with it not setting up the VPN first like the old remote desktop app did. If I go into Connections and connect to my VPN, the client works like a charm.

One other weirdness, not necessarily due to the client, is that there doesn't seem to be a disconnect link for the VPN if I tap on the icon at the top. I vaguely remember seeing a post about adding a disconnect option...I'll have to start digging.

<edit>

I knew I had read this somewhere:
To add a Disconnect button:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\Flags2 = 8 (DWORD decimal)
To add a Disconnect button and a timer display showing how long GRPS is in use for the session:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\Flags2 = 16 (DWORD decimal)
To disable both the Disconnect button and the timer:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Phone\Flags2 = 0 (DWORD decimal)

</edit>

One more thing...the link copied to windows\start menu\programs is misspelled: WM6 Remote Dekstop... I have attached a corrected initflashfiles.txt.

WM6 -RDP Client Keyboard not working

I have tried to import the registry settings to map the keyboard so it will work in the RDP session, but this is not helping. Anyone else have this problem. The client connects without any problems but i can't log in because i can't use the keyboard. Could someone tell me what the registry keys are for the keyboard mappings, i can then check my registry to make sure they are present. Any help would be appreciated!

I noticed the same problem with the keyboard on mine as well. I can tap the screen and move the cursor, but neither keyboard works. (the slide out or the gui, on-screen)
