When you did the Official Sprint Rom, did the upgrade utility show what was going to be upgraded? It should list three things when doing the Sprint update. It should list the Rom, the ExtRom, and the Radio. Did it show these three things when it prompts you to click on upgrade? Did you shut down everything on you computer and make sure the computer and USB connection stayed active? Did the upgrade complete and tell you to do a hard reset to finish?

A hard reset will only go back to the version you have flashed on the unit. The upgrade utility is flashing back to the Sprint rom. However, if you are getting an error message after 2 minutes you are not flashing the full upgrade. The full thing should take 15 minutes usually. So, the question is why are you getting the error message. What Rom did you upgrade to before you noticed this problem?

i din't do anything to the unit, no upgrades or anything, i been using this version of rom for at least 6 months, just one day i got up in the morning i turned the unit on and i notice no service, then i went to see if the unit was in flight mode and it was in flight mode so i clicked on turn off flight mode, the status change on the letters from flight mode on/off but the service icon always have an x on it wich means no signal, when i click in the icon and then settings it says a wireless radio must be attached to use the phone. I have a sprint replacement program, i think i'm going to try and replace it with sprint, the problem is that i have a samsung ip-830w now in my account and replace the 6700, so i dont known if they will replace the 6700. I will try any more new ideas if any, before call sprint. THANKS for your pacience.

Yeah, that sounds really strange. If you have had the phone for under a year and bought it from sprint it will be under warranty. Just take it into a store and they will probably replace it.

One thing though, if you have the 830w activated in your account, did you cancel service to the 6700?

yes i did cancelled the service on the 6700. And to go to a sprint store, u have no idea how agrevating it is going in there, no one knowns what they doing, they known less than i do, customer service sucks!!!! they dont known how to talk to u to make u feel confortable, i tell u it is agrevating.
I have the 830w and i tell u it is the one, i use it a lot for my business, i use a finances program daily on it and in that program i have to enter data constantly during the 8 hours period, calendar, tasks, internet, email, phone calls, text mess, the point is it has't ever freeze up on me or anything unlike the 6700 once in a whyle i had to soft reset it, this one i just use all does programs at the same time and i dont see that i loose memory or others, just no problems so far, when i'm downloading data i do receive my phone calls, etc, it is the one even do there is one thing i would like to have on it a camera, it does not have a camera other than that is a +. THANKS for your help!!!!!!!!
I'm new at this forums's so i have a question what it means Donate under the members name? donate money? how u became moderate? or other? THANKS

Glad to hear it. Strange that they would just send you one when you do not have one activated on you account. But, still good news for you.

well i had to cry a little, like i did spent 3 or 4 hours at the sprint store and they didn't do anything about it and some other BS that i think i'm good at it, but the main thing is that i dont even have to pay the $50.00 that they normaly charge to exchange the phones, the lady said that because of the first time and the agrevation i had they don't charge me that fee. Thanks Colonel and everyone else arround, let me known if u guys ever need something. THANKS

i had the same problem after i slammed my 6700 on the counter. the radio just disconnected or something. no software will fix it. i had to drive all day to 4 different sprint stores before i finally found one to swap it out for me. but i got my new 6700 and they let me keep all the new accessories in the box, the cradle, the ac charger, the usb cable, cd, everything
