@drunkenmonkey redownload the package and try again.

@konceptz all tweaks will work on this rom also. Yea if u didn't do a custom ext rom then you will have to remove "junkware". This just changes the core OS so the only things fixed u will notice are posted back a few pages. I will add it to the first post when I can.

thanks, glad u guys like.

So, is this the one to go for, or is another on the way in the next week or so? I'm hoping to not do this twice (I have a lot of stuff, apps, reg tweaks, etc and I really don't wanna do the restore twice!)

Also, are we sure the telesis rom is ok re PAM use? I don't PAM often at all, but will be possibly needing to in a couple weeks and I'd hate to shoot myself in the foot with a new rom that somehow borks PAM use.

Nope this is just the core OS still I just repackaged it and included instructions. My custom may not be available for alittle bit, as I'm now trying to tweak with UPX and compress som of the system files. I'm not sure on the PAM use, but I may try it and see. Or has anyone else tried it?

@Paul thanks for pointing me to that, I am a member of the site, dont browse to much and I was using the latest. Thing was I was compressing using the drag and drop method. Using the syntax UPX --lzma -9 --strip-relocs=0 --compress-icons=0 worked perfect! w00t w00t! Thanks man.

I had just finished upgrading to the new PPC-6700 ROM, downloaded from the Sprint website, prior to attempting an AKU 2.2 update. Ideas?

Jammrock I had the same issue! I corrected it by going into device manager, there was a device with an exclamation mark, I choose to reinstall drivers. It could not find a file named wceusbsh.sys. I pointed the wizard to C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\Drivers. This did the trick for me.
Device Manager is not showing any device problems for me. Still getting the same error, tried reflashing several times. Might have something to do with Windows Vista ... ? I'll try again from home on my WinXP box.

I initially tried installing with a vista machine. Does NOT work. Even with activesync installed on the system (and yes I know vista does not use activesync). Try on an XP machine.

And DO THE UPGRADE! My phone works 5000000% better now!!
I went ahead and did last months firmware update to get the new radio version and what not, then customized my rom and then did the alu 2.2 firmware. I could not be happier.

I simply cannot wait for a custom aku 2.2 firmware, and i still even now hold my breath for aku 3.2!! (although this entails wideawake drinking a shit load of coffee for a couple weeks!!)

Thanks to everyone that made this happen btw.

Agree on the Vista. It will not work and you will get stuck in bootloader and not able to get out without flashing something official. Even a hard reset will not get you out of bootloader.

Again, do not try this on Vista.

That did the trick. Was able to load the AKU 2.2 via WinXP. Might want to make a note that the upgrade will not work on Windows Vista, Wideawake.

Now it's time to customize!

Thanks for all your help.
