The one note you make :Data always on for Verizon and Sprint (no extra battey drain, and cleared up some network connect issues)

so this means my data connection is always up? (basically #777) How can I disable that feature? I'm on a no data plan -- do I just need to disable it through the connection mgr?

Also -- I saw Helmi has a new kitchen out which may be a newer build ver of WM6.

are you planning on upping your clean ver to that build?

I'm not so inclined to go with Helmi's kitchen as I don't want all the extra stuff, but I do want to make sure I'm on the latest build.

Good work as always.

Rob, thanks for new R6 release. But as asked before, is this release 6 based on the latest kitchen release? If so I will surely install, comment and donate...

Daveedem and rxb216,

First, yes... just disable it in the comm manager. I plan to remove this change anyway in build 7... which brings me to the question of whether or not I am upgrading to the latest WM6 build 5.2.1908, and the answer is yes. I have VZW build 7 WM6 build 5.2.1908 on my 6700 right now and it is wonderful so far. Took me all day to strip the OS out of the kitchen and decode it for modification. Helmi had it locked down pretty tight as well as a password protected rar archive containg the new OS core components. I finally got it going now, so if all keeps running good with Build 7, it will be released by or on Thursday. It will be a very nice upgrade. Just hang on a little longer. It will definitely be worth it!

is there a reason i can't get codes to work with these releases? I have Build 4 for sprint and I can't get the life data on the phone. I tried ##786# but to no avail. It just doesn't work.

Well, been an interesting week. Had a tiff with a moderator. Car battery died. Re-imaged my PC (32-bit Vista this time rather than 64-bit). And my radio died on my phone and am waiting on a replacement.

Rob, looks like you're continuing to do some awesome work. I think I'll try out your build 6 (or build 7) and a custom one using the new kitchen when I get my new (refurb) phone. I may switch over to using the kitchen, but I still feel like what you do is important. I know I've been flashing ROMs on my phones for months and this is the first time I've felt brave enough to try to cook my own (and I may decide never to do so again once I've flashed it!), so keep up the good work!

Wow, I didn't realize that. Just tried it on my newest build 7(in testing) based off the new kitchen and it does not work. I assume this worked in WM5? If so, I bet it's a WM6 issue.

Ouch, your phone radio died... just out of nowhere? That really sucks. Good thing you are getting a replacement one though. I've only replaced my xv6700 once, and that's just because I felt like getting a new one... and I did .
Also, re-imaging a pc can be a pain... seems like I've done 500 of them this week(XP and Vista). I do quite a bit of clean installing, because half the people I visit that have computer trouble have screwed their systems up way beyond repair! Nobody understands spyware threats or safe internet browsing habits anymore either... then there goes their pc.
Anyway, thanks a lot for checking back here even though the kitchen is out. I have had a few problems with it, but it looks like it has a lot of potential to make some nice roms. I am still going to continue my work because the kitchen can only do so much. Sure, you can add OEM's if somebody packages them up and posts them. You can also customize what's already there, ect. But what about more advanced changes like registry edits, and adding stuff that's not in the oem packages?
This is where I have been stepping in. For example, the kitchen still leaves the registry value HKLM\System\VOIP\SIP to enable port 5060 disabled. Well, you can go in and manually change it everytime you hard reset or reflash. But I just go and change it in the ROM and re-encode it, so it's always there. I think you know where I'm going though. I mean... I'll see what happens, but I'm pretty sure I'll continue my work. Maybe I'll start making OEM's for the kitchen too, I dunno. But thanks for the support, I appreciate it!

****Disregard the first part of my reply*****
Strange... it's not WM6... I had it working a few days ago as I was in there poking around... I also tried ##vocoder# and I get it to flash but then that is it.

I can't recall if I was on an earlier Robmayer rev when I did it or not.

EDIT:::: DUH... I knew I had done something different when I got in there... do ##778# not ##776#

I knew I had gone searching for this on the net before and had found it. Check out http://www.sprintmogul.net/FAQ/HaizisMogulHacks.aspx ... very interesting stuff in there too for WM6....(on the mogul)
