I was able to do a GLRestore after upgrading and GL was running fine for the 2 days I was testing it. But then I had to replace my device (I had dropped it and broke the sound before upgrading). After the replacement, I wasn't able to do a GLRestore; had the same symptoms as you. I'm hoping that a new install using OTASetup with a new GL PIN will fix the problem. Hope to try that tomorrow.

Please let me know how that goes, as I tried getting a new PIN from my 24x7 helpdesk, to no avail. It quite simply told me during install that Goodlink was not supported on Sprint PCS, which I know isn't the case, as it worked hours earlier before I upgraded. I did run the GLRestore, but after having it sit there for 45 minutes "downloading services" I was convinced that it wasn't ever going to happen. I'm HOPING that when GoodLink 5 comes out, maybe this will be resolved and I can then go up to WM6. Of course, I'm also assuming that my corporation would need to support GL5, which I don't know when that'll happen.

Feedback on what you find would be MUCH appreciated, as I'm itching to get to the new release, but don't want to annoy my helpdesk with requests for new GoodLink PINs.

Thanks!

Fortunately I know a specific person I can call to help. If I went thru our helpdesk, I'd probably have as much a problem as you... they're pretty useless.

For me, this is a short-term issue anyway as they are about to shut down our GoodLink server and switch us to ActiveSync Push. But that's not supposed to happen for another month or so. In the meantime, I want my email back...

I'll update once I get word from IT about setting up a new GL PIN.

Thanks! I got as much from my HelpDesk as I thought I neede, which was the new PIN. They didn't even blink when I asked. The harder problem is that I happen to work for a certain antivirus company that wants to make sure that their antivirus packages are protecting all the handhelds, and there's no WM6 bits available yet. If I get desperate, I can call some of the guys I know in the GoodLink group and see if there's anything they can do to give me an exception, but I'm betting that'll be much hard work and persuasion to get done. I'm hoping for good news from you. Please let me know what version of GoodLink ends up getting installed as well when you (hopefully!) get to that point.

It sure seems like Goodlink is the Achilles heel of all of the ROM upgrades.

Holy Shit! I have almost a new phone. Thank you Lord Helmi. I'm up at the lake in Northern Minnesota and usually have 1 bar without using the repeater, now 2 to 3 bars without repeater. I think the battery is lasting longer as well. My ActiveSync works properly again, I've notice slider lockups and a few other minor issues but still learning new things and I might part of the problem. IPhone, who needs it. Donation on the way.

If you use a branded ROM for a particular ISP, you should not let any extROM cabs run. That includes the ones that will try to run "in 3 seconds" after you hard reset and after the flash.
If you use the non-branded generic ROM, then you should run whichever cabs you want.
