Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308
I have a strange problem that I don't see any comments about. I downloaded the buildOS and got it to build a ROM to flash. It opened the updater and completed the phone update. After a hard reset (as per the instructions), my phone just stays on a dark screen. I never see the second boot screen, just the first one and then it goes blank and makes a sound. If I hit the end button, it beeps. But, nothing on my screen. Everything went flawlessly until after I took my phone off the cradle and hard reset. Now my phone is not usable. Any suggestions?

my guess is its stuck in the boot mode u could try to reset it again or u could just try reflashing it. that may fix the issue.

Yeah, not in bootloader mode. There is nothing displayed on the screen at all. I will try reflashing later. Do I need to rebuild the ROM? Or is it saved somewhere when I load my settings in the BuildOS?

Use a bright light and shine it at the screen. See if you see USB or a number like 2.02 on the screen. I wouldn't think you are in bootlaoder since you saw the first boot screen. Did you try to hard eset again?

The build will be saved only if you clicked save as. I would recommend doing a very small ROM, maybe with just the helmi selections just to see if it works, then build a bigger one like you want. Sounds almost like you phone is completely shut off though. Take your battery out and the put it back in. Hold the power button down for about 5-10 secounds and see if it comes on.

Just a few notes to people having trouble with ActiveSync, I had a few issues as well...
1) Noticed that connections were not consistent when going through a HUB, mine was the port replicator... try to connect to a direct USB... 2) There were issues with syncing my notes through Outlook... I deleted all my notes from both outlook and the "Apache My Documents" directory and haven't had a problem since.. Don't know if this will relate to anyone elses issues, just figured i'd post it just in case it helps someone... |

I love this new version 6.1 rocks I have just 3 questions or small quirks.
1. Is there a way to change the color of the numbers in the bluefrog big button dialer? 2 Can i install my old eten dialer that was on wm5 but will smart dial work I made a custom dial pad with eten 3 I notice that with claunch at times after unlocking the phone or jsut going back to the today screen claunch will not be on the today screen. there is Not even a blank space for it. the messages have moved up under the clock I never had this problem on WM5 if i go into the today settings it is still checked then when i close the settings it showes back up?? I found one other issue I am not able to tap on a mp3 and play it out of explorer like i was able to do in WM5 I get a error that the file cannot be opened either is is not signed with a trusted certificate or one of the components cannot be found. Re: Apache WM6.1 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.19716 (Build 19716.1.0.0) - UPDATED 20080308
Nope, definitely got it out of bootloader on the hard reset. After resetting, however, it gets stuck between the two boot screens. The first one displays with PPCGeeks on the top and then it goes to a dark screen and does nothing further. You can tell that the screen is on because when you hit the power button, it goes completely dark. Then, hit the power button again and you can see the screen turn on, but no images. I can still reset the phone, both soft and hard, and it gets stuck in the same place each time. Very strange indeed. I am going to flash again and see what happens this time.
