I never said Helmi, or anyone in perticular had an ego. It was a general statement that some, not all, programmers (whoever they may be) have sensitivities. And in this case, it seems to be the pride of the banner makers has been hurt. Damn, some of you are only proving my point by the long tirades.
No, you're proving my point about acting like an ass to a person who gave you the result of his hard work for free. You can backtrack and call it a "general statement" all you want--fact is you wouldn't have mentioned the word ego unless you thought it applied to this situation (which, as it turns out, was a completely false presumption on your part since gguru's name is nowhere to be found in the ROM and helmi had nothing to do with the banner).

Frankly I think I'm being very patient with you by responding at all to your inflammatory posts. I don't intend to continue.

Your banner was well intended, to give thanks to those that deserve credit, to prevent others from taking credit for the development, etc. And to that I fully agree it was a genuine show of thanks. It does however interfear with the feature of a custom boot screen that is in the kitchen. Doesn't placing these credits elsewhere accomplish your original goals of the banner as well as solve requests to make the boot screen a fully user customized option as it was seemingly originally intended?
The point is that is the developer of this software chose to put a 12-pixel high thank you to the person and web site that made this kitchen possible--leaving you and me and everyone else the remaining 308 lines to do with as we please. If you don't like it, override it on your own device. The other 99% of us have no problem whatsoever with it, and in my case I actually enjoy seeing that on there--as I am a part of this web site and am proud of what we've accomplished. I also live in the real world of knowing that if I my device gets stolen, I'm not likely to get it back no matter what is or is not on the boot screen.

For gguru to spend even more time de-implementing it for just a few people is a waste of his already constrained time. He has a family life and a day job just like the rest of us and he has already indicated that he likes the banner. If you disagree, well we've already discussed what your options are.
