I agree. That is the purpose of my custom boot screen also. Credits need to be moved elsewhere.

We are all grateful for the dedicated hard work, but lets not let programmer's ego ruin the concept of a custom boot screen.

I'm sorry.. Did you get that "Helmi_c is God" banner? That was only meant for development.

Give me a break. I don't even know how to respond to this, but I'll give it a shot. If you feel the credit for this web site and author of the WM6 ROM kernel that was given to you to use for free needs to be elsewhere then move it elsewhere on your own.

I truly can't think of something more minor to be complaining about. This kitchen must be pretty much flawless if this is a point of contention.

Do you remove the Windows XP branding or BIOS boot logo from your laptop computer too? If so, do you expect that Dell and Microsoft should provide you an easy method to do the removal?

Think for a second about the hundreds upon hundreds of hours put in by the people who GAVE this to you before you decide to post your demands and dare talk about ego. Helmi had absolutely nothing to do with the boot screens--that is PPCGeeks way of thanking him for his tireless efforts getting the WM6 kernel working on the Apache. A small price to pay (free) compared to buying a new device, no?

The tools for replacing the splash screen on your own have been available for over a year and are still available if you'll only search them out. If you're that intent on getting rid of those 2880 pixels then feel free.

I am usually pretty civil with people, but even I have limits. Sheesh.

That's rizzle.

I'm not going to remove the banner.

Feel free to use a different BuildOS (or build by hand) if you don't like this one.

Hmmm I almost posted before I read page 2, I had a paragraph of 'quit your whining' and 'be glad that you get to customize the boot screen'... I felt like I was talking to my 8 year old. Now I am just posting to show some support for those that did do the 'heavy lifting' so I could EASILY, so blooming EASILY, flash my phone to various OS levels, create OEMs with ease, Install only the software I want on a phone that a coworker practically gave me it worked so worthlessly from the stock build. Have you ever worked without a kitchen. Try reprogramming a NOKIA (I have been a small part of that back in my AT&T days.) Try cooking ROMS for the 6600, the bastard child of HTC, (no one in xda cared about that one... you were basically on your own.) The problem is you have everything you need, but damned if there is something that might make it look like you didn't do it all... Frankly, this should be a premium/for pay download, it is that good. Have you ever paid for software, I mean there is software out there that is total and complete useless crap that goes for $5, which is $5 more than you paid for all of the ROM building on this site. I mean you have been GIVEN a completely new OS, with OEM's that are NOT available to anyone in the retail world for your device, how cool is that. However, the people who dissected device drivers and combined them with application and OS files from other devices (do you have a clue how much troubleshooting and debugging it takes to splice drivers from one device to an application meant for another), created a free installer, and made a website are annoying you because they branded their gift....

Whatever..................

I made a custom bootscreen. It's my avatar. (attached) On it I put PPCGeeks and Helmi_c.
As my thanks to PPCGeeks and Helmi_c for the incredible gift of this WM6 kitchen. I don't mind the banner, and agree with Luv2chill's point on the issue. It's a matter of pride, not ego. These guys did a whole lot of volunteer work, and are STILL working to make this kitchen the best it can be. The kitchen team are proud of their work, and deservedly so. A banner that lasts for a few seconds during the boot process is all they have. As far as bootscreens, they could have NOT set it up to change it and used their own PPCGeeks/Helmi_c bootscreen, like ALL the carriers do. Don't like the banner? Don't build with this kitchen. Oh yeah, don't download MY bootscreen either, cause it has the same credits!

I normally don't respond to these type of threads but here it goes. Speaking as a developer in the industry for 15+ years, I would have to agree with luv2.. and others. These guys have spent 1000s maybe 10,000s of hours among the team. Based on the stability of the Kitchen you should only have to see the boot screen once or maybe twice a month if at all. I can think of a lot more things to complain about (the weather outstide, third party app this, etc).

For the Kitchen team, I would take this as the highest praise as people can't find anything else to complain about the Kitchen ... it may as well be perfect. Great job to the Kitchen team.

P.S. How many "variations" or "rip-offs" might there be without the banner and be posted as "my work". Hmmm makes you think ....

Really! Cool! Is there a way to use OEMizer to make that one an option

Did everyone seem to miss this opening statement that I am grateful?

I'm not the only one who thought that credit should be moved elsewhere either. It's constructive feedback, not a demand. That is what this thread was about.

Take your Paxil and calm down.

You kind of lose the initial intent after 2-3 pages of posts.

Short answer to your question is no it looks like based on other responses unless you change things underneath the kitchen (not recommended from what I gather).
