From Tierman:
"Not working" is a great way to troubleshoot, but I think I found the problem with the Today Agenda OEM. It's missing an RGU file which means it will work, it's just missing the registry entry to make it show up on the today item list.

Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items\ Today Agenda]"DLL"="TodayAgenda.dll""Type"=dword:00000004"Selec tability"=dword:00000002"Enabled"=dword:00000001"O ptions"=dword:00000001
You can either add that to one of your personal OEMs, add it to a reg file and import it, or create the key and entries manually in your registry. I've fixed it for next release of the PPCGeeks_OEM pacakge." (End from Tierman.)
The attached is a reg file that worked for me. It is not really a zip. Just change it to a .reg file, put it on your device, and "import" it to the above location.

Cannot Receiv Phone Calls *** Help ***

After new flash....

Issue: Phone rings, and I can either NOT answer (both Answer soft-key and the off-hook button do not respond), OR the phone answers to speakerphone, with the microphone inactive (so they can't hear me)

This started happening just after a clean ROM flash. (See attached selections).
No other software installed post ROM flash.

Strangely enough, I think my phone skin disappeared as well and is back to the default.

Re: Apache WM6 Kitchen CE OS 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0) - UPDATED 20071217

Thanks for the tips about TodayAgenda. Once I get my newest problem fixed I'll give that a whirl. Also might go to calplus, which seems like a leaner version of TA that might work as well for me.

New problem...

Last week I updated with this kitchen probably 6 or 7 different times before settling on what I thought would be a keeper build. Turns out I hate the new Cyberon voice command so today I tried to update to a newer build with a couple minor selection changes. For some reason it cannot connect to my phone to update the ROM.

Same identical hardware on both ends, cables, procedural steps, etc. I don't *think* it's a user error as I've done this altogether now at least 30-40 times since getting the phone and have never had a single problem. I can follow directions and it works every time. I am running a Vista machine but last week I had absolutely no trouble right out of the box last week.

I save my latest keeper build and thought perhaps there was something incompatible in my new selections, so I tried my last successful one a week ago. Still no connection, multiple tries. I tried Helmi's default selections. Nope, no connection.

However... at one point in the middle of all these attempts I did connect and update successfully one time. Trouble is, it happened to be with last week's build. Thinking my troubles were over, I immediately tried again with today's build. Arrrgghh... no connection again. And again, and again.

Right now the phone is clean and when I connect via USB normally, I'm prompted to set up a new sync partnership and I can browse the phone normally so I know the hardware works.

Any ideas what else to try?

Thanks,
~Jacy

Welcome back everybody!

Can I cook up a ROM to flash with at a later date, or do I need to flash it as soon as it's cooked up?

Sarge ...

Just build the ROM as usual ... When it gets to the "upload" step, simply cancel ... Now at your later date, in the Build tool, select the "tools" option ... YOu should see "upload ROM to Device" ... This will apply the latest build (located in c:/BuildOS/Temp if you installed in the default location) to your ppc ...

Hope that helps ... And thanls for your service ... From a former Army FA Officer (2-320/101st ABN and 1-150/38th ID)

Cheers

What you have to do is this: 1) go into file explorer and on the main menu scroll and select windows 2) select: gfx - this will pull up the pictures you're using as wallpapers 3) delete "wallpaper" wallpaperL is for landscape 4) highlight one of the pictures from your documents/ my pictures folder, crop it and save it 5) now title it wallpaper
The next time your phone locks it will take affect. If not then slide to unlock and then lock it again. If you're not content with that then you can always soft reset.
( you may have to crop the picture that you selected a couple of times to show it exactly perfect to how you want it)

Unless you been living on another planet ....you can no longer send "picmail(mms)" only via email as an attachment, this block from sprint started approx 28jan08.

example: 10digitphonenumber@pm.sprint.com <---for sprint

You can "google" for extensions on other carriers

Reinstall mobile device center. It seems to lose it's mind sometimes, and wierdness results.

I have a generic carrier reselling this phone, and I was wondering which to pick. Our carrier is Hargray Communications and all that is listed on the phone is UTStarcom. Thanks!
