Just something I've learned in the past few days that I'm sure many others knew:
When making or copying an OEM to the new kitchen there may need to be a lot of work done to the initflashfiles. Some of the "homemade" ones including one of mine writes the files to the Windows directory instead of to a file folder in Windows. The WeatherPanel Default Theme is a good example of this type of file. In your troubleshooting of OEM problems try editing the initflashfiles text so that it writes the files to a folder so that there is a smaller chance of conflict with same named files. With my own Bible OEM when I added the Greek and Hebrew fonts, they read fine in the program. However, the 10 button comm manger uses the same files for the button labels so my screen changed from English to Hebrew. Ha Ha. And for those who want to use the same set of "core" OEMs, try editing the Option files for those you know you want to keep or delete. from either "true" or "false". Save the file. This you don't have to keep checking and un-checking each ROM you make. |

So far mine is working quite well. I cooked .4 with 1.43 radio. BattV(BigJ), Alarm Clock(BigJ), SPB Diary, SPB Phone Suite, WeatherPanel, Windows Live, Live Search, 1CalcLite, FlashLight(BigJ), IM+(BigJ), Network Tools(BigJ), QuickClear(BigJ), SafeMode(BigJ), Resco Explorer 2007, NewMenu for WM5.
I installed Twinky's Apache WM6 Palm Threaded SMS, BlueFrog Big Button Dialer and LVM Second Clock(BigJ). So far everything works great! The AlarmClock from BigJ didn't install the shortcut in the right place, but after moving it, it works great! I turned the "IR Beam" off first thing. My battery is doing pretty well. I don't talk on the phone a lot, I have A/S set to check immediately and Weatherpanel updates every 30 minutes. I also have the "big" battery from Seidio and I still have between 70%-80% left when I go to bed. On another note, I would like to see two new folders on the FTP. One for WM5 OEM's and one for WM6 OEM's. How difficult would it be to update them when a new update is available? I guess for testing purposes it would be better to leave each update separate. I would love to help with this, but haven't been brave enough to try making my own OEM's yet. Just wanted to throw that out. We will keep praying for you Verizonguy. I can't imagine what that's like.

My Bootloader still says 2.02. I'm downloading the kitchen again and I'm going to make a new ROM with not additional OEMs.
Thanks. EDIT I forgot to add ... I sure hope your visions issues are getting better ... my wife has a neuro condition that she is dealing with so I understand. Last edited by tharris297; 10-24-2007 at 06:07 PM. |

I just went into the Button Settings and changed button 4 to something else then changed it back to PIE. Soft reset and worked fine ever since.
