Re: Verizon Wireless Windows Phone 7 status updates !
Just as I have said before, Yea, I hate the iPhone (well its more Steve Jobs but anyway) but, it's not a bad phone. Some people prefer it due to some easy to use features but, more people get it becaue one of their friends has one...word of mouth sales at it's best
My wife wants it....So, make the wife happy and move on. I do hope I can get a WP7 model before because I'll quicky change her mind but, if that is what she wants, that is what she gets.. If your married, you'll understand my reasonings behind it... I still dont have to like it. HTC Trophy or HD7s....what ever hits first..

Re: Verizon Wireless Windows Phone 7 status updates !
The HTC 7 Pro Windows Phone 7 QWERTY slider now appears headed for Verizon, after first being released last month by Sprint as the HTC Arrive. Specifically, the phone seems to be the same MWP6885 which showed up among several unknown handsets on a gaming site which tracks hits from WP7 devices. Also on that list is the similar model number MWP6985, which we know from several sources (Cellebrite, PDADb.net) is Verizon's upcoming version of the 7 Trophy. We can assume from the naming conventions that MWP6985 and MWP6885 are destined for the same carrier (MWP probably stands for Microsoft Windows Phone), but that doesn't tell us which phone exactly MWP6885 is. Well the missing piece of the puzzle comes from the user agent profile for MWP6885, which is a file called PC93-1.0.xml. PC93 is an HTC model we saw once before, passing through the FCC last fall as PC93100, and now that confidentiality has broken on that application, we can be certain that it is indeed the HTC 7 Pro. Therefore, if MWP6885=PC93, and PC93=7 Pro, it stands to reason that MWP6885=7 Pro. With HTC having recently applied for trademark protection on "HTC Pro," we're guessing that, like "HTC Trophy," Verizon plans to drop the 7 when offering the device to US consumers. |

Re: Verizon Wireless Windows Phone 7 status updates !
Thanks for the update deadwrong.
What do you guys think the possibilities are of new models being released this summer on VZW? There was mention of a new Dell on the gaming site and, although its probably for AT&T, I think waiting til mid summer might be the best option. Id hate to snatch up the first WP7 device to land and then feel like an ass when a better model gets released 2 months later. I dont care about hardware as long as my phone doesn't lag, but I really wanted a hi quality/ hi contrast screen. |

Re: Verizon Wireless Windows Phone 7 status updates !
It would make the most sense to me that the device coming to VZW would be a 7 Pro. I am surprised that the GSM carriers jumped the HTC wagon for their new landscape slider. The Mogul, TP, and TP2 have all been multi-carrier. It almost looks as if AT&T and TMO opted out on this round of HTC Pro devices. Would be neat to know the politics involved in some of this........

Re: Verizon Wireless Windows Phone 7 status updates !
My guess the reason why ATT and Tmobile skipped out on a lanscape slider is that WP7 doesn't reformat much to take advantage of the horizontal screen and not all WP7 phones have tilt sensors. I agree that Verizon might get the WP7 pro - another small screened WP7 phone but by the time they get done "testing" the trophy - it would probably mean they won't be done "testing" the WP7 pro till xmas.

Re: Verizon Wireless Windows Phone 7 status updates !
Same here
HTC 7 Pro Coming to Verizon as HTC Pro? Incase you want to read the full thing...(wuth out the formatting problems....no offience Deadwrong) I hope it's not more VZW BS, It just is like the arrive. If it has a Super LCD, then I would look at it but, with out, I don't think I am interested. I wanted one with a keyboard but, I'm not getting outdated tech. Even the HTC Trophy will be coming with a SLCD.... Verizon could be redeamed by getting a HD7s.....all would be forgiven for the time frame... Well, It's all about the timing, we've been hearing about the Trophy from last year and still dont have a Verizon WP7 phone. All news is bull S.H.I.T. till it's released or a press statement is shown. Maybe it's not just me, I'm sure I'm not the only one who is just sick of hearing news and nothing ever happening..it's only been 5 months of this crap. Latest word is next week (May 5th), so we wait some more.....and still get nothing offical from VZW.... HD7s is coming.... Quote:
I'm with Verizon so I can't show her (for more than 5 min in a store) how well WP7 is, so it is what it is. To be honest with ya, I gave up... If that is what my wife wants, that is what she gets.... There is no winning that battle if that is what she wants Last edited by DavidinCT; 04-26-2011 at 02:47 AM. |
