Re: Nokia says NO to google ! And says YES to Windows phone
No..here is how it works..all future updates has the previous updates built in..so if a carrier skips an update..it will be included..BUT..carrier can block all updates indefinitely..aka they can allow updates for 1 year or less and then block all updates from then on to force you to buy a new phone..read what M$ said..they admitted carriers can do that >.>

Nokia makes some great world phones. I was looking forward to trying out windows 7. This may be a good thing. Hope they make a cdma version. Of course nokia hasn't made a phone for sprint in a long time. We'll see what happens.

On the carrier thing and a little off topic, the hd2 got 2 official updates within a year. |

EVO launched with an Update... people were complaining that Stores were appling the update while activating phones @ launch... the Update messed up a lot of EVOs... but Evo hasn't been out a year and has several updates hasn't it?

True, I think 2 also. Just saying that the carriers can only block 1 per yr w/wp7...it's supposed to be a system push. |

As I said carriers can choose not to push any update..I dont exactly see a carrier stopping updates in short term unless they feel it will effect their network/profits or etc...but in long term its possible some may choose to block updates to force ya to buy a new device..want me to get you the source? |
