Re: Warez Vs. Tethering
uhoh, this thread has turned into yelling match on the internet. The problem with the thread is that crazychef keeps on diverging from the OP.
The OP asked if ICS regedits should be considered warez, and therefore be banned from the site. I think from a legal standpoint, they are not one and the same and therefore PPCGeeks do not treat them the same. If the OP's point was to say that ICS regedits are warez and a bannable offense, then I would say the general consensus is that he is wrong. Diverge any further than that OP and this thread just become a war of words and no one knows what the hell they're arguing for or against anymore and eventually it just turns to personal attacks. |

Re: Warez Vs. Tethering
i love ya for fighting your fight.. but you knew you were gonna get a response like this..... i made sure the best went last, and i sized it up abit in case you might miss it..
are these places wrong as well?? http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/2343/64/ UPDATE 06/19/08 Sprint has started contacting approximately 5000 data card and phone-as-modem (PAM) customers who are exceeding the 300 megabyte roaming restriction, to educate them on the change in policy that they were notified about via message in their monthly billing http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2008/...ited-data-cap/ First off, the new cap only applies to data cards and tethering, http://nextelonline.nextel.com/en/legal/legal_terms_privacy_popup.shtml first, Data: Services are not available with all Sprint phones. that means if your plan is not compatible with a PAM plan, oh well, doesnt mean steal it. second ..Services are not available for use in connection with server devices or host computer applications, other systems that drive continuous heavy traffic or data sessions, or as substitutes for private lines or frame relay connections. Except with Phone-as-Modem plans, you may not use a phone (including a Bluetooth phone) as a modem in connection with a computer, PDA, or similar device. and lastly, Data Usage Limitation (Mobile Broadband Cards, USB Modems, Embedded Modems(im pretty sure ICS would be considered the "embedded modem" and Phone-As-Modem): The amount of data transmitted over our network is measured in kilobytes (KB), megabytes (MB) or gigabytes (GB). Sprint reserves the right to limit throughput speeds or amount of data transferred; and to deny, terminate, modify, disconnect or suspend service if usage either exceeds (a.) 5GB/month in total, unless specified otherwise or (b.) 300MB/month while off-network roaming. 1024KB equal 1MB. 1024MB equal 1GB. |

Ok thats is wrong (nt accurate beyond a doubt). My account with the U727 usb air card is not capped at 5GB. New users who are not on a business account or corporate, may come under this. This "cap" isn't universal. I frequently go over 5GB a month on my Unlimited account with Sprint. And my contract is honored to do so without scrutiny. I can verify this. 700MB+ over and counting. No alterations in my serivce & this is the 5th month in a row that I have done so. |
