Yep, have same issue, 1. solved issue of 1X not going to EV by checking 3G with screen on.
but, 2. issue not switching on data...
I noticed it was after a reboot & the first time, it was driving me nuts!! So, as soon as I reboot, I go into Opera (or whatever) & let it time out (20 seconds for additional 20 hours?!), hit again, it works, & then from then on no issues for me. You?

hah.. i was being more aggressive i guess. I set wmlonglife to switch from 1x to EV when the application that needs data connection is started.. i also set it to go back to 1x when the application is closed. because of this, it was really hard to get it going.. especially in Opera... IE would not close itself after it times out.. or maybe the timeout is pretty long for IE. dont know.

can my sd card cause the phone to freeze ? like while its trying to load thumbnails for pictures or album covers ? i flashed back over to touch of glass and i got the same problem, where it freezes in the WM home screen....i pull out the sd card and bam...its not frozen anymore...

havent put anything new on sd and never had this problem before...

YES, a major source of issues... SD cards... copy info to PC, reformat, copy back.... if still problems, in my Android sticky, I've got a link to super massive SD card formatter, really scrubs it. Step IV. *ANDROID

LOL, did it myself (over & over)... I hinted at it twice in the write up.. (the idea of it is to only have it once per session)... need to go back & just say DON"T CHECK DISCONNECT ... :>))

I'm hoping to have some time to spend with CHT 2.0 - It just does not like me and my phone. There is a fix posted for all my troubles but 1.8.5 runs so well for me I guess I'm spoiled!!!!
