Care to share a little more info such as which ROM/Version/date you are using. Your sigline indicates mightyrom.

Also, have you checked the cable? Bad USB port? USB1 Port (does not provide enough current to charge our phones - need a USB2 port or powered USB hub)

Does it charge from the AC adapter?

Skype works just fine on my cookie 23678. Try to uninstall-reinstall. Should work
