I highly recommend Sashimi 8, which you can find on winmo-experts.com.

Murducky has a good guide on these forums. You can search for it. Unfortunately, I don't have enough posts on the forums to post links, so you'll have to search for it.

Sashimi will let you get your device almost fully customized after flashing. I have mine setup to provision my exchange/email provider (GMail), which loads my email, contacts and calendar without any intervention on my part. It also sets up my wifi settings for several locations I use commonly, installs my own programs, and loads settings for those programs, including SlingPlayer, which I use also.

I was initially afraid it looked too complicated, but once you work through the guide, it's actually very easy.

Now when I flash a new Rom, I leave my device untouched for about 10 minutes, while all my programs load, and my settings are loaded, and ActiveSync connects to GMail and syncs.

I do have one tweak I came up with to handle device restarts during Sashimi. Sashimi tries to circumvent programs that automatically restart during install, but I have had a few that it could not work around. That left me unsure whether Sashimi finished, and after a reboot I'd have to try to figure out whether I need to start up Sashimi again.

To fix it, I first followed the instructions on post 60 of the murducky guide, but I changed the copy to put the file in the windows startup folder instead of the TMP folder, and exec it from there. This way, if the device restarts in the middle of Sashimi installing CABs, Sashimi starts back up and continues from where it left off. The only catch is that you need to delete the link from the startup folder after Sashimi finished. Fortunately, Sashimi's deleteops.ini file will delete any file you indicate when Sashimi is at the end of it's processing. Just add the startup link file to deleteops.ini.

Good luck. Once you get it setup, you'll find that the only really tricky part is finding where any given program stores it's settings. Some searches on the forums will find posts that give this info on many common programs.

Re: |R|6.5.3|WWE| ★ EnergyROM "Leo" 28011/21885 |Dec 31| ★ Sense 2.5/ MaxManila/ Dusk

the settings on my prior post seem to work for pictures being larger..instead of going out at 32kb they are going out in the 3 & 4 hunfred range... going out that is. Verizon is sending them back at much smaller size then the sent size. in the 20kb size... Grrrrr

going back to see if can force a receive larger...

EDIT: FOR THOSE THAT ARE SAYING IT'S FIXED FOR VERIZON. whoops caps.. it's not. look at the profile settings in registry files... they are set for sprint servers and also the name ( mms server info its calling for) is also set to sprint!

Re: |R|6.5.3|WWE| ★ EnergyROM "Leo" 28011/21885 |Dec 31| ★ Sense 2.5/ MaxManila/ Dusk

Issue is not resolved to MMS as the provisioning is incomplete and another issue is there needs to be a manual entry of phone number in the mms server info. This is entirely a provision problem.

couple issues, please give links to instructions to solve if they've already been addressed.

1. Font in landscape mode is not ClearType
2. on the hardware keyboard the : and / keys are still swapped
3. still can't send MMS thru HTC messaging (I thought this was resolved a while ago, why isn't it included in this ROM?)
4. not sure what the Documents tab is, but when i go to it, all it says is "Loading Document Browser..." and shows 99999/99999 but never tries to show any documents.
1. No clue

#2, i know it has been mentioned and there's a cab for it, but isn't this something that would be easy to cook into new roms?

NRGZ.. if your skimming posts, can I have my straight up SMS back? I like both actually and used to be able to use them interdependently on your roms. MISS THAT VERY MUCH.........

I have seen many posts referring to a Sprint Keyboard fix but no one links the cab.

Anyone know where to get it?

Just a note to some folks. As you learn how to flash & move around & tweak. It's a good idea to keep the cabs that do the trick on your storage card. Today while out in middle of the day, i reset my phone, did my cabs, did my mms tweaks( manual registry) all in about 20 min.... You get good at it lol. So if you don't already have one.. get one!
