Review on 23519 Leo build

Setup:
Error on setup "the file "AutoRun' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problems persists, try reinstalling or restoring the file."

This is because i have sashmi auto starting during the uc setup stage. mscr is not associated correctly.

Back to the HTC Startup Screen (I like it better than the nexus splash)

GPS: Works
Internet: Works
Weather Tab: Works My Location Works
Twitter Tab: Works

Speed:
Overall Speed: Fast

Sense Speed, Smooth & Fast
USCC MMS: Works after you add the server.

New:
Tools > TD2 Tools

Issues:
Data Icon. Looks like we are having the missing Sim Card White Icon again. We did not have it in the previous build.

I thought about this too myself. From my understanding, when a ROM is flashed, old data is completely wipped, and new data is written to the RAM. So, in theory it should not make a difference what data was there before. To a computer, deleted data is just sectors on the storage device that are free to use.

In the case of formatting a hard drive for a computer, it doesn't matter what was on there before. Data is data. When it comes down to the basics, it is all just a bunch of 1's and 0's.

The chance I can see for error would be the result of a bad flash. But this could happen if you did 100 stock reflashes. Maybe just a matter of chance?

I have never done the flash dance before and remain overall error free.

Please enlighten me if my knowledge is incorrect!

Could you elaborate on the speed of htc messenger? The speed of loading up a thread has been an issue for me in the past.

Honestly, I am guessing that you are correct in that it is not needed. However, i ran into an issue with a couple of different ROM's where everything worked except for answering a phone call (this includes the Feb. 1 23518 ROM). I had seen others suggest that people try flashing the stock ROM first. I tried it and did not have the answer call issue after following those steps. Certainly there are a number of variables that could have played a role in the issue. But, after seeing it work when I tried it, I would rather spend a little extra time up front, rather than flash a ROM, work on setting it up only to have to hard reset and do it all over again. To each their own I guess. We all have our preferences.

Why would you load XP when you always had VISTA... They say custom ROM's leave stuff on your phone that causes bugs on the the new ROM. I've personally noticed a bug free.. freeze free... ROM when I reflash stock. So I would do-it, but its up to you

21891-considered more stable, 6.5 release from the com2 branch.
23519, com5 release, 6.5.5 rom, start button and soft keys on the bottom. new conversation mode in email.

its all preference really, 6.5 is more traditional and 6.5.5 is more cutting edge.
