Re: |R|6.5.5|ROM|WWE| ★ Energy "Leo" 23541/21892 |Feb 26| ★ Sense 2.5.2012 / MaxMani

I've never complained about battery drain before because I run my phone hard on the battery and I expect sugnificant drain BUT this 2/26 rom is the worst I've personally ever used. I wasn't able to keep up charging my battery yesterday for the first time sense ever. I have a charger in my car, at the office and at home and constantly plug it in when I can and it still died out yesterday with my regular use.

Actually, yes. I'm running Energy January 25th, 23518, 2.5.1922... As far as I can tell, this is the last of the series capable of changing day, date and time of "one" of a recurring appointment. Thanks for your input. It's fine for now. This version looks exactly the same minus the stuff I don't use (ereader, palringo, etc.) and the battery life is much better than the more recent updates. I usually check the calendar and battery life on the updates and revert back. With all that said, NRGZ's work is still second to none.

Re: |R|6.5.5|ROM|WWE| ★ Energy "Leo" 23541/21892 |Feb 26| ★ Sense 2.5.2012 / MaxMani

I've gone back to the Feb. 24th 21892 ROM. I'm not sure why, but my signal strength indicator consistantly shows stronger signal, and I had much better battery life. Usually when I use WIFI Router my battery discharges faster than it charges, but when I was using that ROM it actually charged! As for the signal strength, I don't know if it's true, but I work in a vault, and when I'm using Opera or checking email it never dropped the signal (it usually does).

edit: Of course the two could be related...better signal=better battery life LOL

I'm on the Feb 26 23541 and so far I like it very much. The battery life is great! Only used 10% battery while idle over 24 hrs. I have never seen battery life this good in any rom.

I understand menu, new and then I see text message area but no paper clip. Thx

Maybe you have a lame battery. It happened on my new laptop and Dell sent me a new one and it lasts twice as long. Just thinking.

I thought it was daunting at first too, until I just jumped in and started using it.

Follow the install instructions, and put a few of your favorite cabs into the Auto\CAB folder before your next flash, and you'll see the programs get installed. Then add a few more programs, or some reg entries. Once you see it in action, and understand how easy it is, you can worry about trying to get everything perfect.

Once I got into it and discovered how easy it really was, I dove in and started finding reg entries, CABS, setup my provisioning XML, etc. Then I'd hard reset, check the results, tweak, hard reset, etc. After a few rounds of that I had a pretty full setup.

Now I just maintain by checking for new version of cabs, remove old or unneeded ones, etc. When a new ROM comes out, you need to check to see that your fixes are still needed, and remove some of them.

I organize my CABs in the Auto\CAB folder into subfolders so I can keep track. I have:
\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Auto\CAB\1 - ROM Fixes
\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Auto\CAB\2 - mms fix
\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Auto\CAB\3 - Programs
\Storage Card\SASHIMI\Auto\CAB\4 - Last

Since my own programs don't usually depend on the ROM version, I can just look at the fixes this ROM needs, and the currently needed MMS fix before each flash.

The '4 - Last' folder lets me put any CABs that depend on other installations.

shortening the vibrate

The vibrate on Energy's ROM are set for one long vibrate. It's a bit much to me, and am wondering where the reg edit would be to change the default vibrate to the normal shorter, buzz, buzz type.

Re: |R|6.5.5|ROM|WWE| ★ Energy "Leo" 23541/21892 |Feb 26| ★ Sense 2.5.2012 / MaxMani

Oh mannnn. I tried fixing the battery leak using someone's fix in here (the one with a long set of numbers)

and now my internet won't connect

I try to go to a webpage, and it says
ERROR!
Network Problem

A box pops up and says:
Cannot Connect
Dialed #777
Cannot connect for an unknown reason..

I don't know what reg-edit I need to fix this.

1) Installed the attached battery monitor (Attached file 01)to check settings

Battery DisChargeCurrent 250-285 mA
ChargeCurrent 450 mA (usb 2.0 lets me know quick charge isn't working - should be 900+ mA)

2) Installed the attached nuebattery2 driver (Attached file 02)and enabled quick charge settings and don't round percentage to re-enable 1% reading and reset

Battery DisChargeCurrent 250-285 mA
ChargeCurrent 922 mA (now it is quick charging)

3) A lot people are supecting that the battery issue is related to bluetooth whether you are using it or not so I installed the SprintStockBTDlls (Attached file 03) file

Original thread from mrmediaguy at Mighty's for reference on this subject:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.php?p=1544672&postcount=17174

This is key -----> Enabled BT, reset, then disabled BT...

Battery
DisChargeCurrent 164mA (plugged into activesync via usb 2.0)

Battery DisChargeCurrent 46mA (unplugged)

To me this is a substantial difference in discharge and charging amounts.

I think this warrants more testing.
are you saying check or uncheck? the box at "don't round percentage (1% increment)"
