Does he/she have a SIM card in the phone? I believe that is the icon that shows up when there is no SIM card. Even if you're using it CDMA only, you need a SIM card in it. The phone comes with one installed normally, at least from Sprint.

An easy way to flash is from SD card.....download the file right from your ppc....then you do not have to run home for lunch to do it....

SD flashing is stickied in the TP2 upgrades forum....very easy...

All 3 versions of the ROMS have been uploaded. He did not cook in the CHT into the standard build. Go get em!

Yes He does. but It see his storage card in the phone. but that icon stayed even though the card is in it.

I suspect you hit reply on the wrong post, as your comment seems related to my reply to your post, and unrelated to Flyers post.

The SIM card is not the SD storage card, but a card that goes in a slot underneath the battery. It's used for GSM networks. I've never been on GSM, so I'm not very familiar with SIM cards, except that it identifies you on the network: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subscriber_Identity_Module

just uploaded the newest max manila rom, and I like it a lot and seems to be working great. look forward to the version updates so we know what we have.

*** I miss the new Document Tab and did a search here and at XDA but can't find how to install it on its own, anybody know if this can be done?

What i did and that was the last time I saw that Icon:

-while device on remove the battery
-remove the SIM
-boot back on (without SIM, only time icon should show)
-turned off device
-replace SIM (ensure proper fit)
-replace battery
-boot back on...icon gone forever

I stopped using Max manila because it would always screw up the rotation of the screen. Stuck in Landscape, SMS being in portrait with the keyboard out ect...annoying...
