Ok...Not to sound like a total noob, but what settings have to be adjusted with this version to have mms working for sprint?

Performance wise, R4 is better by far

Well, because vibrate/ring was a regression as it didn't survive reset. Performance-wise, I disagree. R4 was MUCH more sluggish than R3, especially weather animation. Memory usage would slowly creep up and eventually you'd have to reset or run a memory scrubber program. Pocket IE in R3 was as quick as Opera 9.5. In R4, it was back to slow-motion. Twitter was extremely inconsistent in updates. Footprints didn't work. The phone kept trying to enter CDMA roaming mode for some odd reason every once in awhile. Upon every boot, #777 fails. Activesync would stop working randomly and only a reboot would bring it back. The profile and PRL update icons were missing, but the were missing in R3 as well. The phone seems to use UTC and then adjust the clock for the time-zone you were in, this is evident in Facebook and other apps that showed "Today" and "Yesterday." The flip-clock was schizo. Under dialup connections, "TELUS" and "CDMA1X" are there and have been since R1. Also, connection settings don't stick. Custom DNS settings and username/password revert immediately after finishing setting them up and resetting the data connection.

Also, R4 seemed to make the phone run much warmer and drain battery more quickly as a result. Not sure what that was about. It fixed itself after a few reboots.

Also, sliding sounds still weren't there. But that's not a regression.

Oh, and you use RapidShare. It takes around 25 minutes to download a ROM, sometimes even longer. I even gave you an un-metered FTP account on my site. It literally maxes out my connection and I tested the download time; under a minute. We're talking MegaBYTES per second.

But to each his own, I guess. I'll give R5 a go tonight and see if it's better. If not, no biggie. You've done great work so far and I really appreciate you putting forth the effort to develop a great ROM over the stock CDMA crap.

Ok, at about 5:45 CST I started the download on this ROM. It's now 6:10 and I'm at 56%.

Sorry guys, I'll upload and link as soon as I possibly can, accelerator friendly as well.

With this new release I see that the mms is fixed..Is this fix to be used with the htc client? or do you still have to go through wm to send and recieve mms'?...Once again thank you juicy, you do wonderful work. Keep it up!

Hi,
Where is the "Update Profile" option in this ROM? I can see it in V2 but not v3,4 and 5.
I get the error code 67. My wife phone is still on V2, and all I needed to do is to "Update Profile" and it worked. Don't know how to fix it in later version.
Thanks.

Anyone from sprint get their MMS working on R7? If so, what did you do? I'm able to receive, just not send...am I going to have to send through WM messaging again?

It still doesn't work from the HTC messaging app, and in order for it to work from the Windows Mobile messaging, you need to do the following reg hacks:

1. HKLM\System\Inbox\ExternalAccounts and changing the name of the SMS key to SMS.htc

2. HKLM/Software/Arcsoft/ArcSoft MMS UA/Config/mm1/WspHeader and add a String named "x-vzw-mdn". Value = your phone # (********).

I know this can be fixed in registry but in Sounds & Notifications not only is messaging and email messaging led notification option greyed out but now at least reminders, voice mail, and missed calls are as well on R5...wasn't like that on R4...

alright, so i just verified a few mod's that work with r5 and cabbed up the owner info registry fix

http://psykiroms.com/t0mmyr/tp2/juic...uicyR5mods.jpg
install this cab to add more shortcuts to your home tab and enable the same background for all tabs

install this cab to fix the 1:02 clock animation if it bugs you

& install this cab to re-enable the owner information shorcut in your settings>personal screen. soft-reset to apply the changes

Here is what I see. Don't you usually see Text messaging at the top? I even went into the emails and tried to swipe left and right and I just don't see it.

I attached what I see. I must be doing something stupid b/c everybody else has it.

You won't see that until you do make this reg edit:

HKLM\System\Inbox\ExternalAccounts and changing the name of the SMS key to SMS.htc

Wow, just got my phone setup after flashing to R4. Now I'm going to start on R5.

How do I save preferences to the Sense UI to be restored via XDA_UC? I'd also like to know how to export/restore things like logins to Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps, Telenav and my registration info for Sprite Backup and Kinoma Play.

Any help would be great!

Thanks. I just moved that reg key to Sashimi so it can auto install it. But why isn't that just included? I'm a little confused then.

the only reg edit you need to do is changing to HTC.sms

the rest is just setting up the mms servers in poutlook

Guess that's what I was wondering. No big deal now that I know. But we should have had the option to just see Text messages.

On another not, I have to get used to not sliding open the keyboard when replying to a msg after i open HTC messaging. it locks up the device.

In V4, you can change the lock screen to the classic WM lock screen (where you have to click "unlock" twice at different places to unlock the phone). Is it gone in this v5 ROM? Is there anyway to get it back? Thanks.

unless you're on Verizon, then you need to go to:

HKLM/Software/Arcsoft/ArcSoft MMS UA/Config/mm1/WspHeader and add a String named "x-vzw-mdn". Value = your phone # (********).

Odd that this stuff isn't already done, this all had to be done in the last two ROM's also.
