Wow, R8 is beautiful and fast as hell.

But is anyone else having problems with the phone not going off when you tap the power button? Major lag if it works at all. Ait wakes up right away, but sometimes the display flashes on and off like its catching up on my power button taps.

Also, why is it only Juicy ROMs having this god damn no ring bug. Still not fixed!? I've been a faithful Juicy popper for quite a while...but R5, R6 and now R8 have this issue. I might have to go back to MightyROM.

Can anyone explain this. I'm not trying to complain. It's more of a bug report and request for info as to the cause and what is being done to fix it.

Thanks in advance...and Juicy, I'm not jumping ship quit yet. Do me proud.

im begining to think that it is not juicy fault or the rom... its the user! juicy and many others have said ringer is fine, an juicy cant fix a bug he doesnt have nor can replicate. he's not even giving straight forward info about this problem by the ppl who have it.
it was said that opera10beta2U could be the problem, cant comfirm as i dont have either the ring no ring issue nor opera10beta2U. if you have opera uninstall it...or maybe its another app you have as not ever app is perfect...they have bugs an issues too. maybe sumthing isnt playing nice w/ this version of wm?

i dunno, im not that smart but i do know that if juicy doesnt have the prob., even still trys to fix an issue that he doesnt have much info to go off...except post like "i have ringer bug""back to ... roms" . it doesnt help him try to locate an unknown issue. try this, clear storage, check ringer by calling your phone. if it doesnt work post off the bat then definitly post just that. but if it works, install only a few or even 1 app at a time. and then keep trying to call your phone to pinpoint after you did such n such it stopped working, then post just that.
maybe then it can get fixed...

I rearranged and deleted some tabs, now the wallpaper on the main screen is gone, its just white. Changing themes or wallpapers does not fix it.

How could it be the "user"? Flash to stock, clear mem, soft res, flash R8, clear mem, soft res....no ringer. Nothing installed yet. That is not "user"...that is the ROM. Doesn't happen to me with MightyROM, Energy, SSS, or self-cooked off of Caulkin kitchen.

So, what's your rational for claiming it a "user" problem?

well so far i have only seen 5 people with that problem, i myself do NOT have the "no ringer issue" so im going to point to "user" error as well until more factors are provided by those "users" that dont have the no ringer issue...

make no mistake im not denying it possible a default setting is going rogue, like the "footprints data connection always on because it fails to setup properly"...

just sayin

You will get the E back instead of the 3G. You just cant see the E on the pic I posted because I am running active sync, and Pocket controller Pro to capture the image via PC. But when not synced to your pc via cable you get the stadard E.
http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...capture2-6.jpg

My only issue after a day is my You tube. I am having the same issue and Error message as before (on R7) "THIS VIDEO CANNOT BE PLAYED". Everything else loads. All the videos populate on the screen and I pic a youtube vid I want to watch and then as it is loading I get that error message.

I Used File Explorer to go to my Windows Directory (My Device>Windows) and found 2 diffrent You Tube files that execute You Tube. The 1st file exicutes You Tube just as befor and after I chose a video I get the "THIS VIDEO CANNOT BE PLAYED" Error. However the second You Tube file actually Plays the video! But I get no sound. So I moved the second file into Windows>Start Menu>Programs>Multimedia so that I can just acces it from the start menu. I closed all running apps, soft reset, hit start icon, selected Multimedia folder, executed You Tube Icon app, Video played again but no sound.

I assume something I instaled cuased this but cant imagine what. You Tube worked fine after I flashed R8 and cleared storage so I know its not the Rom. Does any one have any suggestions or know what file in Windows Directory applies to sound. I might just need to copy over with Total Commander. Anny ifo apreciated, thanks.

EDIT:
I figured it out, I uninstalled >>>>>SWYPE<<<<<. After I uninstalled it I soft reset and clicked on the YouTube app in the start Menu it played vidio but stil no sound. So I soft reset and opened the YouTube app I put in the Multimedia folder and it worked! It played the video with sound! So SWYPE is the issue. I had to soft reset twice to get it to work.

Hope that the issue with installing SWYPE and YouTube not working properlly is eventually resolved as I really enjoy SWYPE, but I like you tube better.

IF this helps you please please hit the thanks.

hey what cab you used to get the font..can you post it please..thank!!

1st off your post #5440 (go back up and read what you wrote...i'll wait) doesnt say any process you took as far as flash stock, r8, then clear storage and it also does NOT say you have nothing installed and the ringer did NOT work off the bat!

in fact your post #5440 sounds like every other post complaining bout the ringer not working and by not GIVING ANY USEFUL INFORMATION!

now in my post yea i said user error but also gave helpful hints to narrow the prob down. trying to help your issue out w/ the lack of info you posted! now that you added sum HELPFUL info..then maybe its a bad flash (it happens) redownload the rom, extract, reflash (no need to go back to stock) just reflash the fresh downloaded rom. then report back...

Hardreset, then try again...if problem still there then flash again if needed...

I have data and it works fine for me with Sprint.

Also...seperate note...I also just tried MaxManilla 2.8 beta...works super smooth with R8 (so far :))

Don't you love it when someone says this??

The problem doesn't happen in any other ROM, but when it happens with this one it's user error?? Give me a break.

I finally stopped using these ROMs after that ringer issue followed me through 4 different versions of this ROM. I have not had the problem since & I install EXACTlY the same cabs/apps etc in every single ROM I ever flash.

SEEEEEEEEAAAAARCHHHHHHH if you don't want to look through pages. Start with the posts when the new Update came out. But my coffee is extra good this morning so I will repost anyway:

If you want to go the old messanging style, disable HTC messanging cab first then use the Sprint 2.1 MMS fix cab. You don't have to edit any server settings or do any reg changes! See attachment for cabs.

You can still get to HTC messaging by clicking on the message from the Sense messaging screen. Or click ALL MESSAGES to go to old style. You can view your MMS within HTC messaging but cannot send (as always, still no fix for this on Sprint).

I can confirm the You Tube issue with this ROM.

Audio works on the first video launched, but nothing after that. You have to close, reopen the app to hear the audio again.

I've installed:

Telus Provisioning
Qik
Resco Brain Games 2009
Skyfire

I flashed R8 from Stock and hard reset after.

.... Not a huge deal, really. More like a minor annoyance!

Sure Here you go. The 1st Cab for Hands Fonts is the one you see on my screen on the last page you quoted. There is only one problem, since the font is a little larger than normal (which I like) the only issue is on the weather tab you will not get the current temp. This does not bother me as I see it on my today page and prefer the larger font. However if this botheres you install the 2nd cab (Hall Felicia) over Hand Fonts and this will correct the problem.

All credit for the making of the cabs goes to Godzson over at XDA-DEVs if you guys would like more font options here you go. they are all safe on our TP2/Rhodiums and you can install one cab on top of the other they just overwrite eachother. Enjoy!

Hmm, thats a new one. Just tried it on my TP2 and when I switch ringer Profiles form ringer to vibrate the icon changes. Its on obvious question so please do not take offence, but do you clear storage before and after every flash? Did you flash back to stock Rom prior to flashing to R8? I almost always do to avoid strange bugs that can easily be avoided by doing it. Give these a try. Or mess around with the phone settings, hit your actual phone button>Menu>Options Scroll down to Vibrate, and try switching the vibrate option (I have it on).

I did perform a clear storage before and after the flash, but did not flash back to stock before flashing to R8. I usually do not do that and havent ran into any bugs up until now. I will definitely try going into the phone settings and try it that way if not then ill try flashing back to stock and then back to R8 if necessary but would want to avoid that. Thank you though!

I have never cleared storage before a flash (I do after), nor have I ever flashed back to stock...I have not had adverse issues with flashing using the above. Each to their own...but I'm not sure I buy into the stock ROM thing...can't see how it could possibly make a difference...but hey, if you got the time to do it, great:mrgreen:

Neither have I, this would be my first time. I always did it the same way you explained, but I am not finding anything else that could possibly help me with this issue so i may need to give it a shot and see what happens. Thanks for the input.

Just as an update, i flashed back to stock, performed a clear storage, then back to R8, clear storage. and still the same bug. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

the ringer works fine for me, it just the icon at the top that isn't changing when i switch the profile from ringer to vibrate. I did have this issue once before on R6 but after a clear storage the problem never came back. Now when i flashed to R8 i see the problem again so idk whats going on. The only thing i have installed in the carrier provisioning. thats it

Feel kinda dumb here...but I too have this issue...didn't look prior to my post! So I too am in the same boat as you (glad you tried all the suggestions so I don;t have too:evil4:)

Anyway...if you figure it out, let "us" know!

Either way, a minor annoyance, since automatic mode, which I use for my calendar appointments, works as intended...

The ringer bug is not random. Once an app, Opera beta 2u for instance is installed, the phone will no longer ring. You do not even need to call the phone to verify the ringer is broken. Just go to a contact and try editing the Ringtone. Normally when you select the various ringers, the phone will play each ringer at is is selected. None of the ringers will play when selected when the bug is present. Its broken at that level, even prior to a call coming in. This must mean something to someone.

The problem (bug) is present even when switching out of Sense into Windows Default. But in windows default you get a corrupt ringer error after selecting a ringer and it will default back to the stock ringer, which also does not ring nor does it play when the bug is present.

If anyone wants me to try some experiments with my phone let me know. Since the problem is easily fixed by removing Opera, I wouldnt mind testing some ideas.

Yes i agree a minor annoyance but now its difficult to actually tell if the phone is on ringer or vibrate. Just as an update when i do a soft reset on my device and it starts up it the icon shows the correct ringer profile. I am still searching but not coming across anything yet.

I can replicate this: when changing the profile in settings tab (sound & display), icon doesn't change. But when changing it through volume buttons, icon does change.

Minor bug, doesn't bother.

yes i just realized that myself now. so I will probably stick to changing the profile that way. I usually did it by going into sound and display but i guess ill just leave on auto and that will take care of it. If i find anything else than I will post it up. Thanks!!!

without Max Manilla? Thanks

Ringer, and ring/vibrate incon sound/volum function still all work for me with Max Manilla 2.81 (Beta). I have been recieving texts, and sending, calling and recieving calls with no issues. I think it may be something else you installed.

Opera 10 beta 2 u has said to be the culprint of the ringer issue.

I can say that I haven't had the ringer issue anymore since I removed that version of Opera.
