maybe trial n error...best to do it right after a flash before a clear storage/hard reset. and just start installing cabs (thats how they do it 4 the most part; instead of dll's copyed to windows) either way. and then you'll see if any icons are not skinned or if it broke sumthing in the dialer an such.

i seen a lot of ss w/ ppl using the dusk tb. the ppcgeeks taskbar thread slowed down compared to what it used to be (i only say this as i havent been there 4 long while) but if you do a search on xda youll find sum more.

I am using this one and it works great with R8....Install both cabs if you have a CDMA...

they work but should mess up the volume fix... you have to use an edit taskbar..

you can find them around in several threads.. MM edited some.

Re: + [ROM] [01/13/10] JUICY ROM (21889.5.0.87) [Landscape Sense UI] [XDA UC]

Flashed around 6pm today. I was on SsS rom earlier, I cleared storage, falshed back to stock, cleared storage, and flashed to Juicy R8, and finaly cleared storage one last time. I then synced my Contacts, Callender, Tasks, and notes with active sync. Finaly I installed MMS Fix(M2.1) (sprint).cab, 2016 SMS Bug, Soft reset and installed Zenyee Disable HTC Messaging 1.2 cab. I soft reset again and then re-installed Zenyee Disable HTC Messaging 1.2 (to uninstal it) Soft reset one final time and I have been 100% ever since.

No soft resets, no issues with texts etc.
Some people prefer HTC messaging some dont, so if you dont care for it simply install Zenyee Disable HTC Messaging. However if you prefer it over WM Messaging do like me and disable it with the cab, soft reset and then remove the cab, soft reset and it will work without any bugs. Atleast its worked for me on all sence 1922 roms. Good luck!

I love this Rom and as I said no issues yet, but I think running R7 and working with the bugs helped me learn how to make this one run smoother. Great Work Juicy! hope this helps.

2. on my home clock the weather, location and temperature are in the middle of the big clock numbers and aren't positioned where they should be

3. phone freezes and lockes up from time to time...after a phone call if i dont push end or if the soft keyboard is out and i open the phone to use the hard keyboard it will freeze...usually only happens in 2.5 messaging client

I have the same #1 problem. I followed this and it works for me.

Set "CacheTime" to 60
Set "SuspendResume" to 58 00 00 00 33 00 99 00 88 00 39 00 58 00 39 00 29
Then do a soft reset.
Good luck,

Reference from KilgoreBA post:

Re: Sprint CDMA Data Auto Disconnect Registry Entries
disconnect network when idle for 1 min timeout

Code:
HKLM\Comm\CommMgr\Planner\Settings\
Set "SuspendResume" to 58 00 00 00 33 00 99 00 88 00 39 00 58 00 39 00 29
Default is #777 and should not contain anything about GRPS
Set "CacheTime" to 60
setting SuspendResume" to "58 00 00 00 33 00 99 00 88 00 39 00 58 00 39 00 29"
makes it so you can make calls while you have a data connection.
YOU CANNOT have both on at same time
before you COULD NOT answer any calls
while you had data present.
now it disconnects the data and
makes it so you can answer calls

Wow...me too...just noticed this...I just got everything working and reinstalled too...bummer:???:

*actually a soft reset fixed it...have to monitor this...other than these issues...works well...i like MS pocket word/excel etc...2010 versions!

Also, the "20" program home screen cab no longer works...any luck from anyone else that likes that?

I just updated to the latest version of this ROM. Everything appears to work really well except, I now have no Data coverage. NONE. Can't update weather, cant get online. I get the following error:

Data Call Failure
Error Code: 11
PPP Connection Error

I am on VZW. Looking under Settings > Connections > Advanced > Select Networks > Internet should connect using.. is set to TELUS. I try to change to Verizone Wireless but it does not retain the setting. If I click to edit that connection I can choose between Auto Pick, Verizon Wireless and CDMA1X.

I am new to the ROM scene so there could be something basic I have overlooked, but right now my phone is pretty useless. Any help would be greatly appreciated because otherwise this ROM looks like the absolute shit!

Great rom, i was ready to go back to 6.1 after trying a few different roms but this looks and feels the best. One question though, is there a stable R8 alternate text cab for Sprint (with mms ) because the default one is really slow for me and freezes. Thanks,

When you update to this rom, at the main page, there will be a settings cab that you have to choose your carrier from, then click commit. Did you change from the default Telus?

Btw, I've been running this since the a.m. release a day ago and it's been running perfectly. Absolutely no problems that I can tell. I'll keep everyone updated if I do run into something. I'm also on Telus so default works perfectly.

Eer, that was added as an edit after I read the post.

it wasn't there when I read the post.

Obviously adding certain cabs to this ROM breaks the ringer (just like it did in 4 previous versions for me) & I can't have that, so I will stick with my current setup where I have none of these problems.

Its the new 2G dialer it doesn't support ## codes so if you need to use your lock code or ## codes you need to flash back to stock or another rom that doesn't have that dialer i think Juicy and Deck are the only ones to use this dialer. I like it better than the other ones and don't use the ## codes so i would rather have it in there but to each is own i guess. Hope this helps :)

Actually not many issues at all nothing that doens't come with the 2.5 the htc messaging has always and always will be slow and freeze it was designed for a phone with a 1ghz processor :p but if you want to disable it that is explained like five thousand times in here. other than that and the ## lock codes not working cause of the dialer that is in here I havn't had any issues and his battery life on this thing Rocks I swear i even get better signal strenght as well. I use the new USC radio and this rom and its perfect for me in SC.

This causes the continuous 3G connection.

For those on CDMA networks (VZW/SPT) who may not like the 3G icon or have issues as the person quoted above. Try these 2 cabs. I posted a pic so you can see what the task-bar looks like on this rom. You will get the E back instead of the 3G. You just cant see the E on the pic I posted because I am running active sync, and Pocket controller Pro to capture the image via PC. But when not synced to your pc via cable you get the stadard E.
http://i363.photobucket.com/albums/o...capture2-6.jpg

My only issue after a day is my You tube. I am having the same issue and Error message as before (on R7) "THIS VIDEO CANNOT BE PLAYED". Everything else loads. All the videos populate on the screen and I pic a youtube vid I want to watch and then as it is loading I get that error message.

I Used File Explorer to go to my Windows Directory (My Device>Windows) and found 2 diffrent You Tube files that execute You Tube. The 1st file exicutes You Tube just as befor and after I chose a video I get the "THIS VIDEO CANNOT BE PLAYED" Error. However the second You Tube file actually Plays the video! But I get no sound. So I moved the second file into Windows>Start Menu>Programs>Multimedia so that I can just acces it from the start menu. I closed all running apps, soft reset, hit start icon, selected Multimedia folder, executed You Tube Icon app, Video played again but no sound.

I assume something I instaled cuased this but cant imagine what. You Tube worked fine after I flashed R8 and cleared storage so I know its not the Rom. Does any one have any suggestions or know what file in Windows Directory applies to sound. I might just need to copy over with Total Commander. Anny ifo apreciated, thanks.

EDIT:
I figured it out, I uninstalled >>>>>SWYPE<<<<<. After I uninstalled it I soft reset and clicked on the YouTube app in the start Menu it played vidio but stil no sound. So I soft reset and opened the YouTube app I put in the Multimedia folder and it worked! It played the video with sound! So SWYPE is the issue. I had to soft reset twice to get it to work.

Hope that the issue with installing SWYPE and YouTube not working properlly is eventually resolved as I really enjoy SWYPE, but I like you tube better.

IF this helps you please please hit the thanks.

In previous Juicy ROM's, I use to be able to stop the home page weather animations (not the center one but the page) by changing the registry entry in HCU/SOFTWARE/HTC/MANILA and then changing the,Home.WallpaperMode, value to 0 and it would stop...I would usually have to do that after I changed my wallpaper....now if I change my wallpaper, it changes that entry automatically to 0 but animations still occur.....any ideas???

Its the same one I used to flash to R8. NO ISSUES flshing.

The only issue I had (Rom related) was with YouTube and as I discovered it was only due to intalation of SWYPE.cab. Loving this Rom.

I'm still running R6. It seems like most of the improvements in R8 are with Sense UI, which I don't use. Are there any noticable improvements in R8 on the WM side? I can live without HTC messaging.

I experienced the same thing. Then i ran R8 with nothing installed. It runs a lot better. I only had one thing installed and it made the phone unusable (Lotus Notes Traveler). Gonna give it a try again after a flash.

I am not sure what triggered this problem though, i already uninstalled my most recent things and undid registry edits, and still nothing, i really want to avoid a clear storage and just fix it.

Having a couple issues, just flashed and can't get data.

Carrier is recognized as sprint at the top, but still says Telus in advanced. Anyone care to tell me what I'm doing wrong?

EDIT: Am on sprint, I didn't see a sprint specific cab, but I can't connect to exchange as normal. This is about my 3rd flash so I'm pretty green. Go easy on me.

RE-EDIT: Reflashed and resolve, I don't know how I missed the provisioning deal the first go round.

EDIT: Am on sprint, I didn't see a sprint specific cab, but I can't connect to exchange as normal. This is about my 3rd flash so I'm pretty green. Go easy on me.

Did you use the built-in provisiong too?

R8 is missing the "Carrier Provisioning" application in the progs menu.

Also, why is it only Juicy ROMs having this god damn no ring bug. Still not fixed!? I've been a faithful Juicy popper for quite a while...but R5, R6 and now R8 have this issue. I might have to go back to MightyROM.

Can anyone explain this. I'm not trying to complain. It's more of a bug report and request for info as to the cause and what is being done to fix it.

Thanks in advance...and Juicy, I'm not jumping ship quit yet. Do me proud.
