Just use File Explorer and go to windows\startmenu\programs and just delete the files that you dont want on the shortcut.

I asked this very same question a while ago and couldn't come up with an answer....SOOOOO, I deleted the manila shortcuts that have icons and just assigned icons to those that didn't (the ones that keep coming back if you attempt to delete them) to make them more bearable...haha

oh no, i meant that the big memory problems in energy rom isn't present in juicy rom. on energy, you're in the mid to high 70s (%) after a few hours and if you try using opera mobile 10 your phone will either soft reset or opera will close.

I was in for a shock when i saw juicy cruising in the 60s still after a couple hours. No more closing of opera!

Just delete the Settings.lnk from Windows/Start Menu/Programs. You will still keep the icon for winmo settings. I know I deleted the twitter and stocks htc icons before. I thought they had stayed gone for me, but I could be wrong. I used Total Commander for both. Good luck!

I noticed a strange behavior today with R5. I was looking up a contact. It scrolled V E R Y slowly through and wouldn't go directly to the T's at all. I waited and waited until I decided to reset. After waiting five minutes, I tried again and it still took a very long time. I only have 700+ contacts. It did finally go to the T's on command, but scrolling took a long time still.

the settings one stayed deleted, yay. but the others keep coming back. i even deleted some entries in the registry i thought were tied to them but no effect. i been deleting them with resco, guess ill install tc and see if i get any better luck with that app. i really want them out cuz im trying to organize my start menu in folders which the originals are already in these are just duplicate ghost icons

It doesn't show up as an option when you plug in your usb and connect it to the computer?

ahh, it does come up when i do that. forgot to check that way as i'm used to accessing the shortcut. is htere a way to get it back? also, do i have to install any fixes for stealth tethering? sorry, i'm used to energy ROM.

edit: nevermind, no need for a shortcut. didn't realize it just connects itself after choosing the option.. used to the other method where u have to press connect THEN plug it into usb. anyway, still need to make sure if i need a "stealth" internet fix or registry edit... or if it's already built in. thanks

Are any of you linking your contact list to your facebook account and importing profile pictures?

I did and if I call someone or receive a call from someone with a linked profile their facebook instead of their facebook picture showing up it's still the default avatar.

I swear in R0 or R1 this worked but hasn't worked for me since.angry9:

Use file explorer and navigate to this folder:
\Windows\Start Menu

Delete whatever you want.

I text and email gets synced regularly, but honestly I can't say I do much else w/ it and its down to 40% after a day of 7 am - 8ishpm

Eureka. I knew it was something I installed cuz I switched back to Mighty and I had the same error. I had been deleting the shortcut in the startup to get rid of the BTTtrayce is not a valid pocketpc application. Thing is, I've been using Tomtom forever(actually its a backup for igo8), and I never had this problem until the recent windows builds.

Thanks for saving me time. I had gone through about 5 cabs installing and restarting to find out the problem. I never would have figured TomTom cuz it was one of my older cabs.

On another note. I realize that I text way to much for sense 2.5. I'm actually content with 2.1 b/c I text so frequently. Juicy's is the best 2.5 rom though.

Sorry, I missed that response.

I don't care anymore at this point however, I got so sick of the laggy POS HTC app I finally disabled it & made the system FAR more enjoyeable to use (it was either that or go back to a 2.1 ROM & I didn't want to do that)

Do you get threaded messaging when you disable it and use outlook? My problem is the favorites don't work. IF we could get the shortcuts for Favorites reconfigured so that it coul go to outlook we'd be money.

Yes, see my post here for screen shots. Receiving in Manila 2.5 is very easy, it's the sending that is the hard part. I've been able to get it to "send" from Manila, as in it says sent successfully, but it is not ever actually received.

For receiving you need the following settings in Manila:

IP Address: blank
Port number: 80
Server address: http://mms.sprintpcs.com (note: ignore the /servlets/mms at the end which a lot of people are saying. That may work too, but I flashed back to stock and took a look and they do not use it on the address)
Connect via: Sprint (assumes you completed provisioning, TELUS otherwise)
Send limit: 1024 KB (note: can be changed in registry, but doesn't matter yet as sending isn't working)
WAP version: none (note: this is key!!!! will not work on other WAP versions)

For sending I have found missing header items, and incorrect device identifiers, but I haven't worked it all out yet. I am leaning towards it being a configuration problem, and not a bug in the hard code. Personally, I receive an MMS here and there, but bascially never send them, so this works okay for me for now.

hey where do i get to these settings??? sorry

Not sure if this was mentioned already and I'm too busy at the moment to read 15,000 pages but...... the HTC shortcuts are a product of Sense 2.5. I do know the last ROM I cooked (30 minutes ago) that I was unable to kill the shortcuts, only icons. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they came back after Sense restarted because of the 2.5 interface.

You need to install the update profile cab and update your profile. That should fix your problems.

This actually did not work...at first. I had to do the ##3282# and enter in the msl code and change the active profile from 0 to 1...then the Profile cab updated properly...not sure why the setting changed to 0, but all is good again in R5 land!:wav:

But then what do you do with your favorites page? you just have that to call ppl then huh? I find it more convenient to message people b/c I Text way more than I talk on the phone. Guess I'm going to go back and try Juicy rom and disable that HTC messaging right away.
