Thanks! I changed the {HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings} SMSNoSentMsg to 2 and it completely disables the notification window and the tray pop up.

I did some mroe tests and the charges showed up because I had the phone in CDMA only mode. I needed to put it into global mode to ensure stealth tethering.

edit: I run my phone in gsm mode with a rogers SIM alot of the time. My plan has no data connection but the phone keeps turning itself on (the screen) and trying to connect to some sort of data over and over. anyone have any ides for this?

Here is some info regarding tethering:

Shipped IntShr.exe (usually its in drivers folder and hard to notice that sneaky file) made by Broadcom (in properties) is a garbage file,made to count tether data for carriers.

IntshrUI.exe from sys (module) nice and clean,made by MS

IntShr.exe triggers when people selecting Internet Sharing from USB to PC popup

IntShrUI.exe-from start menu

My theory is those who had charges used usb to pc popup and this ROM comes with shipped IntShr.exe.

Easy fix: recmod MS IntShrUI.exe module and rename file to IntShr.exe.Overwrite in windows dir and problem solved.
Credit goes to MM and Mr.X for discovering that bad file

Its just my opinion.Hope this helps.

Here is some extra tips (Ive seen this issue on NRG ROM)

the grey "connect button" in internet sharing when phone has no sim card.

It happens when IntShrUI.exe and renamed IntShrUI.exe to IntShr.exe is from different SYS version.
Everything works when sim inserted.

Its important to keep both files up to date with the SYS so they will match with sys version

I like the rom very much.
for some reason... ur current lite rom still creates a 'storage card2' during boot and makes the SD installed apps unusable. looks like read/write is being hosed up. didnt have this issue with any other roms.

Are you open to the idea of taking this rom and optimize it in the lines of SuperRom?
That would probably the world's best n fastest rom.

I recently got a couple TP2s and found this to be my favorite rom, but I'm in the same boat as the others with locking up on reboot and other issues.

On both phones it seems things get corrupted during a soft reset, I've had everything from it failing to boot, apps coming up missing, .net 3.5 disappearing, theme items reverting to windows mobile defaults, etc. All requiring a hard reset to fix.

I want to keep running this rom, and probably will, but I have to do it without ever resetting the phone it seems, which is difficult since it's a habit for me to reset often. I can't really pinpoint an application causing it, as every time I've had different apps installed, and sometimes I haven't had anything installed yet when it happens.

That being said I'm willing to test anything out if needed to figure out what's going on.

EDIT: It's not even reset related. I did a hard reset, installed only a few apps (Opera 10, Iris Browser, and Scilor's Groovemobile). Didn't set up activesync or anything, only twitter and enabled my location for weather. Now after running fine for a day (I made sure not to reset it at all) it started failing to launch apps by saying they were not valid windows applicatications. When I reset it, it failed to boot back up, and we're back to square one.
