The clock does sometimes seem to play catchup and flip a few minutes at a time, but only when initially woken up, it doesn't appear to do it randomly. Have you tried clean ram or memmaid? Maybe something got stuck running that's not showing up in the taskmanager. There haven't been really any complaints that I know of, of people saying it's slowing down. Take a look at D/\sh's video about loading it up and not slowing it down.
