I think next week I will try my hands on a "Clothed ROM"

To be honest, the Bare Naked series started out as nothing more than an attempt to see how much of the included software I could remove and install separately, as opposed to having to update and reflash every single time a leaked ROM with newer software came out. This would also eliminate the need to update and reflash if any of the software had bugs, was not fully compatible with other software, or just plain sucked on WM6.1, because all you'd have to do is uninstall it and install another version.

I guess this ROM is more for a power user who has the time and energy to install a bunch of CABs as opposed to being ready right off the bat.

BUT rest assured if enough people want it, I would be more than happy to make a ROM with all of this stuff included.

I'd TOTALLY vote for a clothed ROM :mrgreen:, I install practically all the CABS (takes ages) to get a fully functional Manila/Sense anyway. I'd just vote for leaving out the carrier specific stuff e.g. Sprint TV etc ....

Freeza this ROM is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! I have tried them all and this is just a thing of beauty. Completely customizable. Very fast. I put a different version of Opera 9.5 on it and the zoom bar works as it should. The page resizes the text to your zoom level and it it just plain fast. Everything works as it should. Your support is incredible as well. Thank you for all your efforts. I will be using this ROM for a long time. I haven't tried putting the 2.5 manilla on it yet as I am afraid to slow it down. I use ultimate launch with a bunch of custom icons and the interface is just a simple thing of beauty and speed. WELL DONE!

With regards to the previously mentioned suggestion of making the ROM XDA_UC compliant, would this not be an easy way, and perhaps most in keeping with the original spirit of the ROM, of distributing a "clothed" version? There could be a zipped up download of the Optimal, one of the Lite, and a "Complete", each ready to be extracted to the SD card of the user's phone (Sense 2.1 and 2.5 specific, of course). The CABs would still be available as separate downloads for those that wished...

One ROM to cook (two, once the 6.5 is finished), and easily maintained zip files, rather than having to re-cook the ROMs each time something changes in any given sub-program. Seems the best of both worlds to me...

Also, it provides the added benefit of a directory that a user can add their own pre-selected programs to, rather than having to manually install them upon each flash.

Just my $1.05...

I figured that since you could control the order of installation in XDA_UC via simply numbering the CABs, it would also serve to cut down on the number of support requests... ;)

Probably going to start a thread for "Naked ROM series presents: Partially Naked ROM" pre-release or something lol.

This one will more than likely include the bare essentials such as:
-Sense 2.1 and Sense 2.5
-QuickGPS
-HTC Album
-HTC Task Manager (Maybe, depends on how many people use other solutions)
-Arcsoft MMS
-HTC Volume Control (Maybe, depends on how many people use other solutiosn)
-HTC Notification Enhancement (Maybe)
-PhoneCanvas
-EZ Input (Maybe)
-Enlarge Start Menu (Maybe)

All of which will of course be tweaked and set to optimal performance. However, they will more than likely be as close to stock as possible. This means that any hacks for Sense, such as BG4ALL, clocks, sliders, etc--you will still need to install yourself. It provides a base for those who may like the stock look as opposed to my own look.

This will cut down on CAB installation time by at least half an hour.

Freeza, I think a while back someone asked you about cabbing up TF3D2. Did you ever do that? I'm not asking you to, but if you did have a cab I would be interested in trying it.

Never given Sashimi a try. Actually, pretty new to the whole flashing thing, and was hoping to pick one auto-install system and stick with it. ;)

I wouldn't mind a TF3D cab, if you have a few spare minutes ( ;) ) to throw one together.

Well, never having used one with, it'd be nice (IMHO) to do (completely subjective) performance comparisons, and see if the pretties are worth the upgrade to SenseUI. I'm still enthralled with the upgrade from the stock WM 6 on my old T-Mobile Wing to the TF3D on the TP2. :D

lol, okay give me a bit. i'm tinkering with the new sense 2.5 (2012) build and some new drivers (bluetooth 1.9.2.600) etc

I think Sense 2.1 is definitely worth the upgrade. it is almost identical (performance wise) to manila 2.1 (without weather clock). However, 2.5 is a bit of a performance hit. The newer builds of 2.5 (2011,2012) are quickly closing the huge performance gap that the 1922 builds (leo/hd2 optimized) had.

Absolutely no problem. ;) To be perfectly honest, I would be much more contented with the XDA_UC than TF3D... (I could be a mad flasher and re-flasher!) Until it was mentioned a couple of posts ago, I hadn't even considered that it would be possible to have it in a cab... But now my brain-wheels are spinning. ;)

I've finally gotten some free time to flash my phone, and have started downloading the ROM and associated CAB files. And, I gotta say... My head hurts. :P There are entirely too many CAB files in that directory. ;) Are they listed and numbered in the order of recommended installation? Or no?

I'm a big fan of the pretty Sense 2.1, but the one thing that bothers me is the animated weather on the home tab. Any way to disable that? Maybe it's just me, but it seems to lag my phone down something awful, and I really don't care that much about the weather - I live in Bremerton, WA. It's always overcast, except when it's overcast and raining. XD

Yaaaaay. Will the ROM allow you to finger scroll in emails? It seems like some 6.1 Roms do not have that and some do.

Try installing dshow and mhub :-p

As long as the touchflo3d cab is installed (not sense/manila) finger scroll/swipe gestures will work.
