UPDATE: 4/5/10: Thanks everyone for your support. As you know, the HTC EVO is dropping this summer, and i'm making the switch so unfortunately this ROM will no longer be updated and will go final without a lot of finishing touches (mostly cosmetic) I had planned. However, if someone wants to take over, I will be more than happy to upload my entire project.

Welcome to the Bare Naked WM 6.1 based ROM.

All carriers are supported but Sprint is the main focus since it is my carrier and with limited testing capability for other carriers, I will rely more on the community for feedback as to what works and what doesn't. There is also a "rogue" version of the ROM which includes no carrier settings, so you are free to apply whatever carrier cab or settings you want.

This ROM includes absolutely nothing but the WM6.1 OS, and HTC Menu enhancement, as well as a few services related to HTC and Manila incase you choose to Install Manila/other HTC programs from a CAB.

YES, this means that Sense 2.1 IS installable by CAB, but it takes approximately 10 minutes to install. And it is almost fully uninstallable (still working on automating this part) which means that you CAN install Sense 2.5 if you don't want 2.1, or just run it bare.

The OEMCAB folder is there incase you want to install any of the commonly found programs on a full ROM and will more than likely be updated as new versions get leaked/released.

NOTE: If there is a demand for it, a WM 6.5 one will be made as well.

NOTE2: To get ## codes, please install fi. EPST liniks.cab from the OEMCAB folder. They will then appear in Start>Programs>EPST. Verizon, Telus, and US Cellular people, please provide feedback if the EPST links work for your carrier. Sprint is already verified working.

NOTE3: Uninstalling Sense 2.1/2.5 WILL fail, and i'm not sure why. Even after unchecking HTC Sense and rebooting it will still fail. However, you CAN delete all manila files successfully as well as the registry keys and other files related to Sense 2.1/2.5 without error, but to automate the process, I may include a mortscript to handle what uninstalling the CAB cannot.

And if all else fails, choose the "rogue" version and install your own carrier cab and/or apply your carrier settings accordingly.

This 4th image is after installing the Sense 2.1 CAB, HTC Task Manager CAB, and the PhoneCanvas CAB, located in the OEMCAB folder. Fully functional. The last image is Sense 2.5.

Update 12/24/09:

-Uploaded carrier specific versions as well as a "rogue" version which includes NO carrier at all.

Issues:
-Because of the nature of HTC services installed, if you choose to run the ROM without installing the PhoneCanvas CAB, Bluetooth icons won't show up on the taskbar. Will work on seeing if that can be resolved.
-HTC Menu Enhancement is kind of laggy (not laggy as in the phone slows down, but laggy as in it scrolls laggy) without Manila but not that noticeable. I guess that's the reason it has EnableManilaCheck set to 1 or the key is missing entirely as default by HTC.

Todo:
-Enable "swipe" gestures to view next and previous SMS/Email.
-Make ROM carrier independent. No more specific versions.

Q: Bluetooth doesn't indicate that it's on, and there are no bluetooth icons on the taskbar, why?
A: This is due to missing PhoneCanvas, Install it here. I'm looking into this to see if it can be resolved without the need for PhoneCanvas. I'm fairly sure I can fix it. :)
Q: Light/Proximity Sensor doesn't work when in a phone call, what gives?
A: See above. It also depends on PhoneCanvas.

Ringtone Pack:
CAB: coming soon.
Description: This CAB will add ringtones from Windows Mobile 6.1/6.5/6.5.X as well as a bunch of HTC and Microsoft ringtones.

US Holidays and moon phase support: PLEASE INSTALL THE DST FIX HERE To make sure all the calendar entries are entered in correctly.

Symptoms: Sprint TV gives an "unable to authorize" error.

Instructions: Copy file and CAB to device, install CAB and place file into \Windows. Soft-reset device, go to Start>Settings>Connections[tab]>Connections[control panel applet]>Manage existing connections>Edit[Sprint #777].  Press next until back at Sprint settings, press ok.  Launch Sprint TV, a dialog will pop up before it connects, check "save password" and press ok.  Sprint TV should now work. :)

Status: Fixed as of 12/30/09 in Beta 2.



Start text Hotfix:



Symptoms: Start text is "freeza" instead of "Start"

Instructions (file): Copy file to \Windows and replace current, then soft-reset.  NOTE: This method will only work with a third-party file explorer such as Total Commander or Resco File Explorer.

It is! that means you could skip Manila and stick to PointUI, SPB Mobile Shell, or any other UI out there.

Manila/Sense UI 2.1 takes like 10 minutes to install though.

This is exactly what ive wanted to see. Although I definitely prefer 6.5 and actually to see this with 6.5.x would be a dream come true. Cant wait to try once all the bugs get ironed out (at least the sorta big ones).

Please excuse the NOOB question...when this ROM is flashed the interface is going to be just like when I have TF3D turned off right? I'm currently using the stock Sprint ROM. I've looked around for exactly what comes with 6.1 Pro ONLY...I can't really find the answer I'm looking for though...

So how exactly do you install the USB2PC popup? is it just the cab? or just the reg? or do you need both? also how do you install the reg file?

You only need one. To do the registry import, you would need a registry editor. I would recommend the CAB as it just does all the work for you.

i'm having the hardest time finding the correct threaded messaging cab. i tried the arcsoft mms cab in your folder, but i doesn't seem to be threaded. i think that should be built into this rom since most people use it. just a suggestion. do u have a link for the cab?

It´s Awsome Stable... I tried into 6.1 Telus Stock Rom. But I don´t have AGPSetting in this Rom, Do you have a cab to install it?

AGPS Setting should be in Start>Settings>System>Location Settings

Wow i have this ROM installed and even as a beta so far its running 100% fine except the sounds and notifications glitch you already mentioned but thats not bad at all. and mann is it FAAAASTTTT!!! this makes you really love windows mobile again. Everythings is pretty much instant. now if we could somehow manage to get this speed with all the great looking interfaces running too instead of having to deal with the kinda dated and not finger friendly standard windows mobile interface thatd be great. but for now the speed definitely outweighs the lack of prettiness. Thanks so much for this! i can only imagine its going to get better if this is the beta! :D

Uploading carrier specific versions as well as "rogue" version which includes NO carrier settings at all. With the "rogue" version you are free to apply carrier cabs from anywhere or even your own.

Yea ive installed a couple of the OEM cabs that i feel are necessary or really useful like album, youtube, MMS, EZ Input, Quick GPS, large start menu, and Wifi Router. They are all working great! i havnt tried to install mobile shell or manila because im afraid ill lose the amazing speed i have rite now and its honestly not too terrible to use. Ill eventually try one of them but for now i just want to stay amazed with how quickly my phone is responding, great job! But ill let you know as soon as i try installing a UI. If you could replicate this speed with 6.5 or 6.5.x with the much nicer standard WM interface titanium especially with 6.5.x it'd be so amazing, the combination of finger friendliness and speed is exactly what id like out of my phone to be perfect. (i know people say its buggy but it is actually 100% usable for daily use imo, with malrom i had absolutely no bugs which i was running before this but i just had to see how fast my phone could go after reading about this bare ROM)

do you know what i need to install to get tomtom working. it keeps on saying finding gps signal but never locks. google maps works fine though

This has been great so far...I have Manila installed and have been using it on and off...mem usage is only around 45% with it enabled...35% without...

I have most of the OEM CAB's installed, though I don't text so I never bother with those...everything is running great...

The only real thing I'm missing from 6.5 is the four row start menu...I really do like the speed here though...even in Manila there is no lag or stutter...nothing I can see anyhow...
