This sounds like DCD's rom, back in the day of the Touch Pro and Titan!
I *loved* those roms, ran super fast... sure, I had to install a lot of cabs manually, but I didn't mind- no cooked rom came close as far as speed.
Even ones I cooked myself, which didn't make much sense to me...

Anyway, bottom line here is that I think many of us would really be more interested in 6.5. Heck, even on those older DCD roms, it was a recent stable build of 6.5, and not 6.1. I don't think I could ever go back to 6.1 after getting used to the touch friendly menus and speed improvements of 6.5

Got 2 Problems

When I try to view a video I can hear it but its blank what do i need to install

Also when I click on mp3 trimmer it saids it not signed

i'm getting major battery drain..seems battery only last for a few hours...anyone else?

What are you doing with the device when you notice the battery problems? I get 2-3 days on a charge if I don't do more than casual texting and calls here and there, but I usually listen to music at work so it drops to ~8-10 hours of constant mp3 playback. If you're idle and it's that bad, you should probably try to get a new battery.

TIP: March is open enrollment for TEP from Sprint if they're your carrier. Call them and add it, call back (this is important, don't do it on the same call), ask for a replacement battery under the insurance, it's free. Then, when you get the battery, call and remove the insurance if you don't want to keep it, and you only pay pro-rated for the days you had it. You just got a battery for under $2.

Nah, shouldn't be an issue at all - I have 4 accounts - 2 personal accoutns checking 1/day, 1 personal checking every hour, and a business account through IMAP checking every 15 minutes.

Get a new battery ASAP. Only other thing it could be is a bad driver for power management, check the apps/mods you have installed, if you're using Freeza's 4D, check the battery settings he has included, and restore defaults and then turn off the "quick charge". It'll take longer to charge, but should also improve the battery life per charge and overall.

Lag is there without Manila.

I just install you room and it works perfect!! but the only problem, its just personal, i wish u have just one cab for the optimal choices, instead of going 1 by 1 that will reduce the time going thru each cab.

hello. my camera stopped working. it says camera.exe cannot be opened either it is not signed or components missing. not sure if it worked before but maybe i installed something that jacked it up. been looking for the camera files in the forums to replace the old and/or missing ones but cant find them. what can i do besides hard reset?

Make sure you've installed the CAB for DShow, and I think you might also need HTC Streaming Media, Fullscreen Player, and one or both of Flash and Flash Lite. Try installing them all. If it works, then begin uninstalling them one at a time until it breaks again, and you've figured out the exact requirements. ;)

Hm, make sure you have HTC Framework, that's a biggie for a lot of features. If that doesn't work, you've got me by the tail. Backup your stuff and start over, and I'd recommend verifying as soon as the camera works, then continue installing your stuff one CAB at a time, until you find what broke it. And then let us know so we don't do it! XD

To have the camera working you need to install the DShow and mHub cabs.

- How do I enable manila start menu with your sense 2.1 cab installed? The start button is mapped to the old fashioned 6.1 start. I want it to open manila start just like the programs tab.
- Also have you been able to get the location services working on a stock rom. Because I can't seem to update the weather or use my location. It gives me an error. "there was a connection error while attempting to download weather data. retry?" I get the error when try to update my location or just a city I have added.

Fixing these two issues would be amazing. I am looking for any help I can get.

Edit: So I have been able to get manila start menu working after deleting a manila file(reverting to the original rom file) and doing two registry edits. But now the start menu will not go away while pushing end or back key. I have to hit start key for it to go away. What would cause this?
(A side note: I didn't notice til now that you included a cab to enable manila start menu but it still didn't work. My guess is a conflict with the stock rom. I guess the cabs would work on your rom but not the stock rom.)

i havnt figured out the problem yet but i flashed to calkulins andriod 1.2 rom just to give it a try since i was gonna hard reset anyway. once i figure out what happen then i will post it up

You have to install "Enlarge Start Menu", then enable Manila start menu from the app included with teh Sense CABs. When I did it, I believe it was in the Programs->System folder.

Thanks I got the enlarge start menu now. It works other than it is on top of everything.

Has anyone been able to get Quick GPS to work? I get the unsigned warning and cannot seem to get around it. Or is there anotehr CAB that might work?

Any advice is appreciated.

Error when installing sense 2.1 cab on a stock rom. The error appears whenever you try to update the weather. "there was a connection error while attempting to download weather data. retry?"

You also have to install framework, agps setting, mhub, dshow, full screen player, and streaming media. try those and report back :)

install htc framework and htc streaming media for quickgps to work :)

Yes, verify that the location service is turned on by going into the phone options then "location setting", and if it is on, turn it off, and let quickgps turn it on for you :-p

Thanks for your help. I have tried so many different things to get quick GPS to work, I think I have totally wacked out my phone. I moved to a different ROM, but will reflash to this one and try more methodically now that I have your instructions. I would really like to use this ROM if possible. My limited use shows it to be stable and unbelievabily fast. By dumping SPB shell on top, I may have the TP2 I have been looking for.

OK, i keep coming back to this ROM. I have Quick GPS working now, thatnks to your instructions. The only issue I can see now is that I cannot use MMS. I am on Verizon. I installed your ArcSoft CAB. It sends the MMS and say it was sent successfully, but it never reaches the reciepient.

The only thing I did not install that you recommended is EPST Links because I did ot know what it is.

Any advice appreciated.

hey freeza, I see this thread has grown alot since I tried your "naked ROM" before and had the active sync issue, alas, my "deal breaker". Was wondering if it's changed to where it might work for me now. So far I haven't noticed anyone with that issue reported anyway. A.S. just never would sync up to my exchange. Anybody still use exchange? heh,heh.
Anyway, I'm in the mood for something diff and have some time today. Think I'll give it a spin. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, or something like that.

I can report that ActiveSync on WM7 works fine. I do not have exchange however, so nothing to report there.

The ROM seems lightning quick and stable. Lots of CABs to load to get it where you want it, but being Bare, that is to be expected.

It's my wireless syncing that doesn't want to work. This is the only rom that does it. I agree this is a very fast experience and the syncing issue is the only thing that breaks it for me. I re-downloaded and still have the same issue. Do you sync wirelessly with your wm7 at all? When I go in and input my info under active sync , it accepts it fine then when I hit the sync button it errors after about 5 sec.

No. I always just plug in via USB. Easy and charges the phone. Can you use a USB connection? If so there are several cradles that make it even more convenient. Just pop the phone in the cradle and the magic happens...

OK I worked out the MMS issue. I found 2 registry entries under HKLM/Software/ArcSoft that had the word "Sprint" I simply replaced them with "Verizon" and it worked. Go figure...

So now, what should be my final issue: Internet Sharing. When I click the icon for Internet Sharing, the hour glass spinns to infinity and I have to soft reset to unfreeze the device; everything is locked-up. This is a must have feature for me. Any clues as to what I am missing?
