I know some people don't like it, but the Google YouTube app works on this ROM. Never could get the HTC YouTube app to behave properly.

I was able to get it to work with the suggested minimum install CABs in post #1, but the graphics were missing and such so I had to install some other things. I think a couple of pages back Freeza gives the short list of what CABs you need to have it working. What is the specific issue you are seeing?

A colleague of mine got Internet sharing working with this ROM. Ironically, all he did was get an older version of the Internet Sharing files, and copy them into the Windows directory using Total Commander. Presto! No hanging animation.

By the way -- I'm really impressed with this ROM. The only thing I'm still figuring out is getting the notification and phone settings to stick, without registry editing. When we hit "OK," the sounds/notifications and phone setting windows don't exit, and don't seem to like saving the settings. Nonetheless, lookin' good!

A quick update -- the fixes mentioned earlier in this thread still work fine. Just add a ringtone to the Ringtones folder and all sounds/notifications/phone settings should stick. Once again -- very impressed with speed and RAM availability (145 MB free with menu enhancements disabled) with this 6.1 ROM!

I still think the fastest way to access stuff is a combination of voice command, the old today screen and the old start menu, with comm manager checked in the menu options.

I'm seeing a lot of SOD threads lately, but haven't seen one yet on the TP2 with this particular ROM. Maybe I'll ask someone at work to accumulate lots and lots of SMS and e-mails, to see what happens...

To SOD your phone, Sleep it, go away on lunch, come back, wake it up. This ROM won't do it, as it seems to be a WM 6.5 drivers problem. Mr.X fixed it in the Verizon MR2 update where he fixed it from happening. Might be good for ALL chefs to take his advice on how to do that.

I tried installing that sense 2.5 cab not on this rom but on the sprint basics rom and while it was successful I couldn't get the twitter tab to work,many settings menus displayed a missing component error and couldn't login to the facebook without sense crashing which was unacceptable so I had to hard reset. now I have to get used to sense 2.1 again unless someone can tell me how to fix it

Outstanding ROM, BTW... I've shown my phone to friends, and they've had me put your ROM on their TP2s, too... I was very disappointed when development was abandoned...

Yea does anyone still have a link to the second to last version of this ROM? That was so fast and stable it was crazy. Perfect for mobile shell as the lats version things like youtube and such didnt work. any ideas?

I still use this as my base for MS. I've yet to find a better "naked" and stable base.

I have the bare naked 4d for sprint ROM as well as a complete backup of the repository that is no longer available. Anyone know where I can upload it for you guys? Over 100 meg.

man MrBigKid where are you!?!? Its getting so hard to wait for this ROM I wanna go back to the super speed I remember experiencing with mobile shell installed on this, combine it with the windows phone 7 theme for mobile shell itll be an amazing phone!

Well while we are waiting for MBK to upload the actual 4D ROM version, I have collected all the cabs I had from Freeza's original file repository and uploaded them, hope this helps some people who just needed the cabs for whatever reason. It doesnt have all the original files but I do have many of them. I also included in the folder various cab files I find useful and some of them are updated/more recent versions of programs found in Freeza's original repository, though I havn't tested them with the ROM as I do not have it, just thought I'd include them.

aww man! theres no sense 2.1 cab, thats what i really wanted. the sense 2.5 cab doesnt install properly and has bugs but oh well u gotta thanks for ur efforts to help the community since the cook of this rom has been inattentive to this.

Sorry man, I was looking for the 2.1 cab but I just couldn't find it, I must have deleted it a while ago. What I put up though should be enough for people to run a very clean and lite version of the ROM and is perfect for SPB Mobile Shell which is what I plan to use it for once MBK uploads the 4D version. He also stated he has all the files from the original repository so im assuming he would have the 2.1 cab as well.

Guys sorry for the long wait. I got called out of town on business unexpectedly and did not have access to the files.

I am back now and I have created a Media Fire account but am having an issue getting into my account to create the directories. It just sits on loading files after I log in and the timer just keeps increasing.
Until I can get it figured out, here is the 4D ROM at least.

I have been running that propels7 for MS and I must say its very interesting. I figured I would hate it but I am actually liking it. To bad the real thing will not be as configurable as MS.

Hmm thats weird I uploaded alot of the files to my account with no problems that you can see in my last post, maybe try a different browser?? Not really sure, If you want you could send me the files and I could upload them to my account where I put most of the other files in the repository that I had left that I could find. Try uploading them to megaupload.com if you cant get mediafire to work and then I can download them from there and add them to the mediafire repository I created from all the files I had left. Just use the multiuploader option on megaupload so that way you dont have to upload each 1 by 1. The reason I say dont just use megaupload and have people download them from there is you have to wait to download between each file and can only download one at a time while mediafire is instant and fast and you can download as much as you want.

Oh and by the way what is the propels 7 thing you are talking about???

Well I give up. Media fire will not load for me on my account. It lets me login and then it goes to a screen where it says loading files and sits there forever. I've tried IE, Chrome, and FF. I've also updated flash and java. Weird. It lets me upload a single file if I am not logged on. So here is the rest of the cabs that I have. Unfortunately I do not run Sense so the Sense files are the only cabs that I did not download when I stripped his site. I downloaded them into the same directory structure he made so I could keep them updated.

Use them as you see fit since these are not my files nor my work. It would be nice if you kept them available to everyone since this really is the fastest and most stable, "minimal" ROM I've seen.

And Proplus7 is a Windows 7 theme for Mobileshell. You should check it out.

Alright thanks alot MrBigKid I have downloaded all the files and reorganized them into mediafire to look like the original repository just in case some people dont wanna download all the files with the link you provided. The only thing I think we are missing is the Sense 2.1 cab sorry guys neither of us had it. Anyway here is the link, all credit goes to Freeza for making the files, and MrBigKid for providing them, I just reorganized it.

I think you're supposed to just download the barebones(4D) version, and then on the first page, it lists the cabs to make it the 'optimal' version.

BTW, the rom that MrBigKid uploaded, is it sense 2.5? And will I be able to go to sense 2.1 by just installing the 2.1 cab killerhatiby009 uploaded?

None of these roms include sense, they are bare bones, we simply uploaded multiple cabs that were originally listed by the maker of the ROM so that you could add whichever ones you wanted only. So you can install either sense 2.1 or 2.5 (although 2.5 is buggy) or not have sense at all and have a very fast phone with just the apps you want. So download the ROM and look at the first page for different setup options and install those cabs and whatever else you want on the phone and you'll be good to go.

Hi guys! Long time no talk. Sorry about the abandonment of this ROM. Due to a screw up with my host, all of my original files were lost, that's why the directory is no longer there.

Apparently, their backup system sucks and I couldn't retrieve them any longer, but it's nice to see someone actually had most (if not all) of them saved.

After they lost all of my stuff, I pretty much went into a dark pit to sulk for a while at all of it gone, and eventually got an Android phone after that. :P

For those of you having issues with the camera, if I recall correctly, the HTC Framework, and maybe some other HTC package relating to Framework needs to be installed to have it function.

It's too bad this ROM's been lost. After trying some other roms and doing some reading, I'm thinking a bare 6.1 would have been ideal for use with Mobile Shell.

If anyone's still got a copy of the rom/kitchen lying around. Please to share.

You could use Scrosler's Sprint Basics ROM which is 6.1 or use his kitchen to build a stripped 6.1 rom and then use Mobile Shell.
